I decided not to for the time being. I just got the 5205G and love it. For some crazy reason I love knowing “where the moon is” in it’s cycle...seems to impart a rhythm to the months as they go by, some celestial mechanical connection. I never “Time” anything and if I were to I just say, “Hey Siri set timer to 6 min.” (Usually for steaks :)).
I may pick one up in the future after the newness of the 5205G wears off.

Investing tip: try and buy references that are beloved and then get discontinued. It seems 5711 white face and the epic 5370p split second crono both being discontinued. Quite happy about the latter.

I love platinum. When fonds get better I'll take a look at a 5524g, since they get really affordable these days.
Next to my 5711, Im still in the game for 5712 but AD can't even estimate the decade. What a mess.. Image Unavailable, Please Login

Every time I close my eyes, I see this watch. I can’t get it out of my mind. I almost wish I never saw it.

Here is a very nice, understated model you might want to add to your collection.

Bought it from a Bangko street urchin for 400 baht ($13 USD). Ran great for two weeks. Probably paid too much.

I’m wondering ... seems the watch market is still quite strong. How is it that Rolex and Patek are going up while F cars are going down?

What Rolex or PP have you seen go up lately? As we get closer to Basel World I can see some Rolexes going up in anticipation but besides that everything else is fairly steady right now.

Thinking of trading my white 5711 for a 5164. Would anyone be interested that owns one?

Both lovely. I would say 5711 more versatile, 5164 more sporty.

Sorry missed this... but the usual suspects...SS Daytona’s and most recently was trying to get a SS Skydweller - all asking above MSRP.
    Then the Nautilus market....Insanity!

Yeah they're definitely way over retail but late last year they went down a bit and then climbed back up. Nothing crazy, maybe 1k on the models you mentioned.

5711 and 5712 SS are through the roof now. In fact, I am trying to off load a 5712 SS if a good offer comes up. Thanks.

Beautiful one, I have one with slate grey dial. Everyone compliments the watch, whenever I wear it.

Well for the SS Skydweller with MSRP of 14800....best I could find is 17K for black or white face and 22k for blue face....that’s crazy!
