Banning him would be a bad idea for Honda, IMO. If he wins, he would have to thank Honda, yadda, yadda, yadda, and the GP2 engine thing would be forgotten.
I can perfectly understand Honda's position. The guy has been badmouthing them for more than 3 years; they are certainly not going to do him any favour now ! Some individual are their worst enemy, and Alonso is a typical case.
This is a double win. Ass-lonso has screwed himself out of another job and hopefully this leaves a good seat open for Hinch at Andretti.
Hinch seems like a genuinely nice guy, but his results haven't been that amazing. I'd much rather see the seat go to someone young that gets a chance to prove what they've got.
Alonso is such a slime , can't even stick to his guns, he now backtracks and says he didn't mean to bash Honda in the context in which it was taken . Looks good on him , his ego much have taken a big hit
Yes, you would think that if he really wanted to race the Indy 500, he would swallow his pride and buy himself a seat.
He probably still have, but that doesn't seem to help him finding a drive. I can't see a stampede of team owners to have him onboard, neither in F1, nor in Indycar. I wonder why ...
