Anybody going to watch? Two games Saturday, two games Sunday, all on TV. It's either that, or basketball... ugh
Here's a facepalm for you Tom. The Roughnecks theme and hashtag has been #ForTheH. The Astros started tweeting this hashtag as theirs yesterday. The guys on the radio were having fun with it.
Like EVERY other league, it depends on the pay structure (if it folds or not). Nobody knows - let's see the product.
Actually just this afternoon on a sports talkstation here they said that all the players have been paid in advance for this season. That doesn't sound right, but if it is true, I guess they're good until next year.
I believe it is, and remember a real sports person is running this whole thing. Oliver Luck. John McClain said he expects it to last 2 years.
It certainly won't be basketball in my household. I don't watch a sport where the officiaiting is more incompetent than the NFL officiating
It's kinda like watching Big10 college football. Mildly entertaining, but you don't know any of the players and don't care who wins.
I've seen a fair chunk of both games today, I have to say I am very entertained, and fairly impressed. The game isn't a penalty every other play, and play is going fast. You may not know this, but there are NINE teams in this league - the ninth team is a 'taxi squad' basically - a complete team of players that are not on a roster, with the plan being if a team loses a player, they go to this taxi squad for a replacement. This team practices every day just like the the other teams. Sounds like a good idea to me.
