I am in need of a standard bore, 308 QV piston with 9.2:1 compression ratio. If you have a new or good used one please contact me. Thanks.

Sounds like you need a Euro piston. Is that correct?

A friend of mine has a whole set of 8 used pistons from his old 85 QV US, not sure if it’s the same compression ratio but I will ask if he would sell one piston.

What is the CR of the US QV anyway?

As I recall the US cars were around 8.8 and Euro's were 9.2. You wouldn't want a mixed set.

Eurospares are showing some used 81 mm pistons but no mention of comp ratio- probably euro types but might be worth asking.

I checked with Eurospares and with Superformance. No one has a 9.2 Mahle piston. I may have to buy a full, new set of pistons.

I have a set of Euro (9.2) QV pistons. I will have to think about whether to sell.

If you're going to do that, go 10.5 or even 11:1

With the current state of pump gas, I am hesitant to go with a compression ratio higher than the 9.2 for street use. Have you don't this with success?
    Thanks

I've gone all the way to 13:1, but that's with ethanol. For pump gas, 11:1 is ok, remember this is static CR, cam timing drops the dynamic CR a fair amount. 10-10.5:1 is a very good option.

My 328 has almost 11:1 and I have it set on the most aggressive advance in the box and it doesn't detonate on pump gas even in the summer. If you had big intake and big cams so it was sucking in a big charge it would be a different story.

If anyone is still looking, I have four of the MAHLE 308 QV EURO pistons - 9.2:1 CR - used of course but in excellent condition. I also have two of the MAHLE 308 QV US pistons - 8.6:1 CR, part #119538 - one is new and one is used in excellent condition
