The fire started on the left side on the top of the tanks. Either the headgaskets spilled oil or the tank/lines spilled gas. It's weirdly a common point of fire, left side around the tank/left header area.

    i agree with this.
this could be a very cool project and end result - if done correctly by serious people.

and the front lights look like they were saved ;)

When were the fuel bladders last changed and the fuel lines checked/replaced?

Despite the fact that i'm a huge Enzo 'freak', i didn't know that Eriksson's Enzo was rebuild!? How i missed that...

Remains were bought by Ferrari and flown back to Italy. Not so much rebuilt as recreated. I think it was the one Jean Todt wound up with?

Money is an object to everyone. Even Bill Gates has a budget, it is just a little bigger than mine.

On the non US models the fuel pumps and most of the fuel plumbing is on the left side so I suppose that supports the theory that a majority of the fires are fuel system related.

On a US model the fuel system is pretty evenly divided left/right.

There is a TV show Called Auto Biography that had an episode on the crashed and rebuilt Enzo, here is a link (you have to sign up for a free trial or look elsewhere for the episode), it's one of my favorites: https://www.motortrendondemand.com/detail/the-case-of-the-split-enzo/1_smcecvbb/?sm_id=organic:sm_id:mtgsocial:ab:s1e2:teaser:na:mtg&fbclid=IwAR2nAKGfOoSPMdkfRS790QYzkMAr1XebCKDJPMkd0GDhTCGcn10UrHVRjTE

Did Nicolas sell it? Auto Biography says it's now owned by a Japanese businessman.

Well done for supplying the identity. What further details are you able to provide about the accident in the '90s?

Would be interesting to see how much better it was than an original Enzo, given how much technology had advanced between the build times.

Following complete reconstruction by Zanasi Nicolas Todt sold Enzo #135564 via Pozzi to C. B. in Gouvieux (Paris).
It was then sold 3 February 2016 by RM Sotheby's in Paris to a company in Brussels who sold it June 2017 to a well-known fchatter. And no, not to a Japanese businessman.

And it looks like the Ferrari F40 in your collection just got slightly more valuable

John Levy at Ft Lauderdale told me to safety wire some line or fitting I think it was near the waste gate? That if it pops off it will cause the turbo to run away with disastrous results. I think he said they blew one at Road Atlanta or maybe it was Road America . Anyway we were thinking of driving ours to the Challenge race in a few weeks to RA as it needs to be driven but seeing this gives one pause.

They didn't rebuild Fat Steffy's Enzo, they built a brand new one and gave it the same VIN.

Did you get my e-mail? You can't profit off it, so you probably haven't even opened it.

Nothing yet, which is why I only list it as "apparently" - it came from a vetted source, but without details, so I remain on the fence.

Does/did this newly built enzo trade hands at similar price to period built enzo's or is there a discount due to the slight story the car has?
