So I really like what McLaren did with the 720. They hardened it up enough to where it now appeals to me. The performance is simply astonishing: 7.2 seconds 0 to 124mph. True hypercar territory. I’m seriously considering a 765LT Spider which is probably about 2 years out. Both the Coupe and Spider versions will be limited to 765 (allegedly), of which around 400 will make it Stateside (allegedly).

Looks like I missed the order window. As far as I can tell, they’re gone. Between VIP customers and flippers, there isn’t much room for normal dudes. Same problem I had with the Pista. I’m just down too far in the customer hierarchy.

With this kind of competition for Ferrari the winner will be the owners!!! Gotta make a great product when you have a serious competitor!
    That 765LT looks impressive!!

Well, even if that's the case, you'll be able to get one on sale after the first year. Especially if this market turmoil doesn't turn around quickly.

I just wish Ferrari would make cars like this: production spec, carbon tub, full out race car for the road.

Seeing how no one wants the 675LT, if you are ok with a pre owned one, you should be able to pick one up for much less than MSRP in 2 years or so.

675LTs are nearing the low $200k mark for low miles.
I dont see why the 765LT will be any different. I dont know what is the MSRP but probably mid $400k. So i would say 2023, you can pick one up with <5000 miles for $250k.

And for the record, i absolutely love the 720S/765LT despite hating the design at first. Would take one over a 488GTB or a Huracan. But the market is what it is and they simply dont hold value at all.

So I went ahead and put myself on the list. I won’t be the first to receive one, but at least I will be able to spec my exact car. I truly enjoy that process. I loved putting together my 812 and it’s probably the only one like it in the world. I definitely want front louvres and a roof scoop. Very few 765’s will be spec’d like that. I’m probably 18 months out, but I need the time to replenish my car fund having recently just acquired a 2005 Ford GT.

I love all the haters. Go buy a Honda Accord, your downside will be minimal. Meanwhile a few of us will have the baddest car out.

So that is kind of why I am getting one. The 0-124mph in 7.2 seconds (or perhaps even less as McLaren undersold the 720S performance) is really the key motivator. Short of spending $1M+, that level of performance is impossible to accomplish. I thought about an SF90, but I don’t care for electrification, and the ONLY reason to not get a 765LT is depreciation and the SF90 curve will probably be remarkably similar. Regardless, I am buy, hold, collect in my style and will probably have the car 20+ years in which case the money lost simply does not matter. Best of all, it’s the near perfect compliment to my current stable (812, Performante, 05 Ford GT). I’m super pumped up.

Its ugly as sin-- but utterly wonderful in its outrageousness, boldness, engineering and performance.

Would I buy it? No way.

Do I appreciate that McLaren made it? Hell yes.

Why would you think that? Most people buying a 'special' limited edition car want all the options, especially like fender louvers and roof scoop on a LT car that make it stand out.
