360 Tubi going in!

I know there are tons of post on this but I was able to locate a nice used Tubi exhaust and its going into the 360. I must admit I do love the sound of the stock exhaust but I started to see white powder and although many of you say its nothing but it gave me the excuse I needed to get a Tubi! Ill post pictures and my thoughts on this exhaust. Stay tuned!

Aside from bumper removal and any possible difficulty with bolt removal, doesn't look horrible. (For a person with a modicum of skill. Unfortunately, that doesn't include me!!!)

It’s not too hard.

If you are patient and can wait for parts it is a good time to inspect mm’s trans mount and other pm items because of the great access you get w the bumper off.

 

What items would you inspect at this time other than the transmission mounts?

 

For me it was a good time to access some engine items while I had such good access:

changed upper intake gasket
Oil was never over filled but found some oil puddling in the intake. Cleaned it out.
Change sp plugs coils fuel inj
pulled 22k mike stock headers... had the white dust.. so good time to install am headers.
Reheat sleeved the alt cable
New hi flow air box
Ex valve cont install
Removed the res from the intake tube
Inspected and redressed several ground points
New ss brake lines
New pads rotors all around
Install rear camera
Inspect motor for leaks drips
Etc etc...

 

The Tubi is in! Here are my thoughts: at idle the Tubi is loud, maybe a bit too loud and not as refined as the stock exhaust at idle. It's when you get moving that the exhaust really shines and is quite harmonious and a definite upgrade from the stock. With each change of gear take it to 5k rpm and wow. If you drive it slowly and shift before 3k rpm it's awe full but again this is not the way to drive this car. Happy with the results and see why so many have this exhaust. Really brings the car alive.

Agreed! What type are those? Do they add HP and sound?

 

These are Fabspeed. They mainly look good. Manufacturer claims a small increase in HP. If there is added sound, I can’t hear it because of the Tubis!

Update: Tubi day two.
The tubis have change the car completely. The aggressive note is insane along with driving, it really complements the car. Wonder how a Capristro would compare or the fame f430 adapted exhaust.

 

Update: day two pm....Tubi rocks, install ASAP if you don't have one.
