Does 94172 really have a ZFFMN34A number? Surely 93627 is the last F40 with a US number and 94172 is a ZFFGJ34B?
I thought this post was interesting. Do US F40’s hold some sort of special value to collectors overseas?
I'm not sure about that, but perhaps this one did to the collector who purchased it as he could have purchased one anywhere in the world.
now that they are all 25 years old, they can go just about anywhere. the spec differences are important to some and unimportant to others.
That's always been true of USA spec F40s even before 25 the years timeline, however, European/ROW F40 cannot be California registered & plated without coming into compliance per DOT & EPA mandates even after 25 years.
I really enjoyed selling 88251 for World Boxing Heavyweight Champion George Foreman, and believe me he knew how to look after an F40, his example was mint after 15 years of ownership, plus, what a great guy to deal with. Big George's F40 being serviced for my new client pre-delivery, if the Enzo in the background looks orange, that's because it is. 88251 went to a Texan who is a George Foreman fan so I got him to autograph some material just for him. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
87400, a time-warp preserved example which we conveyed to a rocketeer in the space exploration technology business, naturally he appreciates the car on full-boost. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
We sold 87511 from it's orginal USA Doctor owner who went to Maranello for a hair-raising ride around Fiorano by Dario Benuzzi in 1991, just to be sure he really wanted to take delivery of his new F40 back at home. He was sold. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
88521 is a genuine F40 LM which since 1991 resides in Switzerland. 88251 is a stock standard U.S. version F40 road car completed 6 March 1991 and delivered new to FNA. Marcel Massini
Easy typo to make, now you know what's correct, since we are all sequestered at home we have a bit more time to review records and type carefully.
