Looking for 2009-2010 612 Scaglietti. Want a low miles, well-cared for car with no history. Must have the panoramic sunroof. Cash buyer, no frills. Thank you
Question for the OP: What do you consider to be "low miles"? Also, all 2009-2010 612s are OTOs and have the glass pano roof. From information posted in the 612 section of FChat, there were just 55 2009-2010 612s imported to the U.S., and one 2011. Depending on your "must haves" and "can't stands", it may take a while to find your car.
There were OTOs in 2008, too, that are indistinguishable from the 2009-2011 OTOs. There was only one US 2011, so odds of getting that one are pretty slim.
I would consider "low miles" anything 10K or below, but I would entertain up to 15K miles if the car is well-cared for and has service records. I'm aware that they're hard to find, been looking for one for a minute now. I'm not super picky but also not in a hurry, so I'd like to find the right car for me.
I'm looking for 2009s & 2010s mostly because it's my understanding there was a significant update on the transmission towards the last 2 year run.
To the OP, all 612 OTOs (as Terry pointed out earlier, production transitioned to them from the earlier version of the 612 in 2008) have a revised gearbox with the 599 twin plate dry clutch, 599 gearbox case with 612 ratios and parts, and Superfast 1 TCU with 100 ms min shift times (information lifted from one of Terry's ["Tazandjan"] many excellent posts in the 612 section of FChat). So, you should add 2008 to your search, but be sure you're looking at the OTO and not the earlier 612. The giveaways to the OTO are the glass roof and manettino on the steering wheel.
Donald- Affirmative, you posted while I was writing this: The update was made when the OTO was introduced in early 2008 and the 599 Superfast 1 F1 software, 599 twin disc dry clutch, and 599 gearbox case were added. The 2007 Sessantas, as the prototype for the OTOs, had the same updates. No difference in transmission software or hardware in any of the 2008-2011 612 OTOs.
I read some of your older posts in the forum, very informative, especially the various HTG packages, etc. many thanks
PM me. I know a person who inherited a 2009 OTO 612 with 7k miles on it. His father passed away and it passed to the son. Not sure if he is interested in selling but it is a no story / no issues car. Again, PM me and I will make the inquiry for you. Amazing car.
I am toying with the idea of listing my 14k mile '09 , a lot of mixed feelings going on , pm me if you would like to know more.
