The SP is being held up by only a handful of large tech names. When you back out Google, Apple, MSFT, Amazon, etc the market gains are vastly lower. Shockingly Apple is barely even down over the last year even though all their sales are closed, and retail sales are collapsing. People are just pumping money into things they hope will be effected least, and thus it's keeping them way higher than what the earnings should represent IMO.
This is what I've been saying. If everyone prints then no one prints. The money being "printed" isn't just getting put on top of the old GDP, it's replacing it. It's not like suddenly there is all this extra cash in the system.
Nothing more than the reflection of the economic times. I also can't EVER recall a situation where the entire planet has been forced into shutdown. So with the obvious predicament the global economy is now in, having only 7 owners placing their Pista's for sale is indicative most with the car are trying to hold rather than sell. I'm actually surprised there aren't more for sale and expect that situation to change over the months ahead. PS. FWIW I also can't recall seeing so many Speciales for sale at such low prices never seen before. Even a Speciale A previously asking 1.5m is now under 1m and still not selling.
There is a glut of every car available right now so what's your point? Its certainly not a good time to be seller for anything.
After a while you do come to the realisation that you really don't need that many, you end up spending money on service and warranty for cars/ watches stuff etc that just doesn't get used, for my £ spent per mile driven I could hire a rolls and driver each time lol. I seem to find the more you can afford the more stuff you buy but, the less time you have to use the stuff so really what is the point. I do love buying and collecting more stuff though although it is kind of pointless [emoji16]
These are good points. For me, I figure that it will all be left to my kids so they can enjoy when I'm gone.
True, I just hope it's all still worth something and I don't get cursed for squandering money on stuff they don't like and will want to sell, I think I have good taste but, who knows how someone else will view it. At the very least the cars should be liked as they will be petrol powered and we really are seeing the pinnacle of the ice cars now
Whats the alternative? Leave it to the "gangbangers" (Kids) so they become even more entitled. A balanced approach is needed i.e. charity, kids, wife, family, once these are looked after then why not buy more stuff - BUT enjoy the stuff or I agree why bother.
Just another thought, many of us, including myself were sold on the idea that the Pista would be worth much more than the MSRP so the loss on the Lusso would be more than made up. I bet a lot of these cars for sale are from buyers who were speculating and were take by the dealers. People who may have stretched to get in the game.
When investing, chasing any commodity, whether a stock, property or a car, that has already increased greatly in price, rarely ends up being a profitable venture.
Not wanting to get too philosophical but you either own the vehicle or it owns you. If you enjoy it and drive it and you love the experience, you own it! If it’s sitting in your garage and you’re worried about depreciation, it owns you! If possessions own you sell them, end the stress and relax. Simple Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
This is what I realized and prompted me to thin the herd....multiple cars on battery tenders, lift, renewing registrations, annuals...at a certain number, it was becoming a chore with minimal time to drive them Sent from my 16M
There are a few here that love a good fake news story even if they have to create one at personal expense. The dustman Pista story was tragically predictable.....like a very boring book you put in the trash after reading the first sentence. I'm really hoping his next fake news story has a bit more creativity and is less predictable than the Pista one. So boring...
