calling a spade a spade is such a trait that I value so much in life.
My Perf popped all the time. Was synthetic unfortunately. But the wail of the v10 was awesome. Not Ferrari V8, but diff and way way louder. Oh what a machine. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Likewise. I believe if you can't be honest with yourself, then who else can you be honest with!? The danger of calling a spade a spade can cause issues with certain folk though, and it can often come back down to how honest a person really wants to be with themselves and others who rely upon them. I also totally understand adverse reactions can come about from persons not having personal experience on the subject matter being called. But I make no apology for calling something out on something which I have personal experience with and, which I feel may have certain benefit for others even though reactions can be mixed at times. Instinct is also a funny thing. We all have it but fight it at times when we really should take notice. I'm guilty of that as much as the next person. How many times have you said to yourself I wish I listened to my instinct! Fwiw, the human is the only species on the planet which questions their own instinct and often ignore it.. and even go against it, which can cost life, where all other species respond to their instincts!
Uh...the backfiring is random. The amount, speed, and volume are all somewhat hard to predict. The only factor that seems to consistently affect them is how high-up in the rev range you are and how much load you are under (recent hard acceleration) combined with how fast you come off the gas. Just around town at normal type speeds, it’s hardly noticeable. And I don’t think it’s the backfiring that has everyone enamored in the first place. It’s the wail and scream of the high-revving V10. It’s the final second before shifting that’s an orgasm to the ears. To characterize the engine based only on “silly” backfiring is to completely miss its grandeur and majesty. I agree though on the tight fit. It’s definitely snug and driving position sucks.
I'm not characterizing the V10 engine on the artificial backfiring at all - just saying the lambo V10 engine sounds good other than that. It's worse on the 610 and really annoying from behind. It's like a replica toy pullback car you see kids play with where each time it's pulled back and let go it makes the same silly synthetic sound.
Absolutely! A Gt Porsche is a hot looking car. Few would argue that. Has a lot of road presence. Gets a lot of thumbs up.....way more than my Pista surprisingly.
How long did you keep your Perf for? I had mine for a year (also through Ogara - Feng) ... do miss it at times, but I still love the Speciale more...choices, choices Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my 16M
As phenomenal as I felt the Perf was...the shifting was “too good” for me. It is seamless, as fast as a technologically advanced car should be. Without feeling the shifts, the Perf felt like a jet ready to take off. Press the upshift paddle a few times and you’re instantly into jail speed triple digits. I need the “slow play” and feel of an actual “shift”...maybe not as slow as my ol’ MurcieSV E gear. The most controlled chaotic shift is best represented by the 60ms SFII tranny of the Scud....nothing will ever replicate it because gearshifts are now lost in our electric feeling DCT trannies that have no feeling...may as well just push a button 3 times to get into 4th gear and pretend you did something whilst the computer is doing it all for you. The Speciale is the only DCT that gives a slight thrust sensation upon gear shifts, maintaining the magic. Oh yes and I need that NA sound....but I digress into 100’s of other threads espousing the same debate. Let’s just say we are all right in our own minds. Sent from my 16M
If you appreciate the shift sensation then its hard to beat Pista. The shifts really slam home hard when shifting under hard throttle esp if rapidly short shifting using the huge torque. Very solid performance!
Let me summarize this thread so far. And no this thread is not as good as Tiger King, but quite entertaining. Pista is frigging awesome in its own right, representative of Ferrari culmination of technology. A few Pista owners are rightfully upset at the brand and especially the dealers because of their Lusso before Pista game. This feeling is inevitably exagerrated by the pandemic and when we are staying home and nothing to do but Fchat. No one's penis is larger. The only one who should care about our penis size should be our wives, not the random dudes on Fchat. And if you don't want anyone to say you have a small penis and need to compensate by the tons of car you have, then don't mention it first. We are not women that boast number of Hermes they have. Having said I have number of cars and then backed it up with insights and experiences are however definitely welcomed and needed, and it made this place great because we can all learn from it. And please don't fall for the "the last ever" game by the dealer and car manufacturer. Alright alright, and yes, and the Sheriff just reopened the case against Carole. And no, HP exhaust pops are not random.
Owned multiple F-cars and Lambo's. Dont give a f-ck about being a part of any scene. This isnt high school, we are grown men. 458 spider was awesome. 488 and F8 did nothing for me. No regrets owning a couple Huracans since then. Still love my 580-2 after over a year of daily driving. Several of my friends own both marques and pass no judgement. My car club is full of horses and bulls and we are close knit because we love the drive. I find true gearheads arent blindly loyal to one brand. Truth. Im 5'10" fit fine. Helmet rubs the headliner though.
I’d like to hear which Lambo you fit in at your height. I’m just a tad taller, but with long legs I have yet to sit in one where my knees don’t cradle the steering wheel. And forget any kind of a Lambo Spyder. The sash height blinds my vision. Not stating this to be sarcastic, I’d love to own one, in fact.
I’m 6’6” 255lbs and I’ve owned my HP for 30 months. Love it, and will die with it. If you want to fit in a car bad enough, you find a way.
