Agree and respect, but I can't imagine you getting out of the car once you have shoehorned yourself in! Or, even driving it after that. My right knee was wedged between the steering wheel and console in every seat configuration I tried. As such, I couldn't even test drive it.
I'm 6' 165 lbs. and with pretty even build. I can cram myself into a Huracan, but a Spider is a no-go. I can't imagine how I would feel after a 6 or 7 hour drive in that box. But hey, for those who like Lambos, where there's a will there's a way. I suppose it's a bit like women and shoes... Sent from my SM-G930F using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I’m 5’10’’ which is considerably above average for southern europeans. Once read in a study that average height here is around 5’5’’ for men. You’re all NBA players as far as I’m concerned Kind regards, Nuno.
What’s more, I have blasted it around VIR. I have road tripped up there from Charlotte twice. Sat behind the wheels for 6 hours total in a day on more than one occasion. At my size, even full size trucks are a tight fit. The only car I have sat in that I could not make work is an Aventador SVJ. I wanted one in the worst way. Went to my dealer like 4 different times. Couldn’t make it work. The HP is a Rolls Royce compared to the SVJ.
Yep. Beast mode. The funny thing is, even though I dwarf everyone around me at all times, I really don’t feel big. It just feels completely normal to me.
Update: My son in law who is a senior designer at Apple, just sent me a gift for my Birthday - a new Apple Watch.
Wow, I’m incredulous. I guess sitting in a 458 (which I can do all day long) has me a bit spoiled. I ride bikes a lot, and at my age (62), bike fit is more important than the actual bike you ride. So I leave you with the words of the late Sheldon Brown, bike guru: “If it does not fit, you must not sit”.
Dude this is not a good sign. We need to get you into something decent in watches. And happy Birthday and best wishes btw! No hard feelings my end on any of that other stuff.
Thanks for the BD wishes. Expressing opinions about cars is all about fun, perhaps edification and simply communicating with other like minded enthusiasts. I respect your ideas, passion and knowledge and did not harbor any hard feelings.
Anyone who gets their knickers in a drawer over comments made about extravagant toys, is in desperate need of reevaluation of one's priorities.
S Shadow I've owned or driven just about everything from Porsche, Lamborghini, and Ferrari over the last 21 years since I bought my first Ferrari in 1999. Newer offerings are just trying to give you a taste of what we all fell in love with while conforming to these stupid regulations. Newer cars are faster more efficient tools for setting fast fast lap times but are quieter, less visceral, and far easier to drive then their ancestors. I suggest you try a Carrera GT if you ever get a chance. As for why the Pista is already at MSRP it's simply because it wasn't that special look how many people on here with a minimal history got an an allocation, including you. Also the F8 didn't do it any favors. I had a 360 CS and many Porsche GT cars since my early 30's and I must be getting old bc I'd never trade my F8 for another one. Enjoy your cars just don't think for a second that they're in the same category as GTO's or TDF'S "special" wise and that's what the market shows.
I agree the F8 execution was a surprise to me and left me scratching my head. Too much overlap with the Pista. Felt it was disrespectful for those that got a Pista. The only 'last of' I've read about is a manual and normal aspiration. I've never had a dealer/seller tell me this is the last of 19 inch rims, last of halogen lights? You think either one is insignificant, well, I'm not surprised. If only there were the 'last of' the silly pontifications.
I'm no stranger to friction (see my response to @noone1 above) Appreciate the context, nothing wrong being critical on Ferrari; in fact, I believe it should be welcomed. How else can the brand be better?
Last of the Metzger comes to mind as well, though the point is that the "last of" anything line of thinking is dumb. Old cars are old. The last NA is no more significant than the second from last NA. The last manual is no more significant than the second to last manual.
Never said people don't care about something being "rare" or being the only one with something. Common human trait. Doesn't change the fact that the car itself is a 2012 California that is of no significance now and likely never will be. At the end of the day that it's a $90K car with a $350K transmission. The price is purely indicative of low supply, not high demand.
Yeah... at my dealer we bump sleeved elbows as we can't shake hand - and I'm fine with that. I am however incredibly sad that I cannot hug the receptionists... Sent from my SM-G930F using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Well dang...I am 6'5" 220lbs and have been told forget about a Lambo due to fit....so I never tried. I did try and tried hard to get into a McLaren 600LT...zero possible way. I did get into a 720S but my knee was shoved into the dash and when the door came down my head was hitting the roof. I fit good on my 488 but I fit best in 991 GT3's with light weight bucket seats....feels like I am part of the car.
I’m 6’4, 215 as of my last check. Size 12 shoe. Don’t know my hat size. I wear a 44 long jacket and fluctuate between a 34-35 in waist. I’m a leo and enjoy long walks on the beach....oh wait- never mind.
Funny, I fit great in a 720S. Maybe I just want it more than you!!! You are right about Porsche 991 GT cars. Those fit the absolute best. Tremendous headroom, and easily the best driving position. And once more, “fit” is not synonymous with “comfort”.
