A few years ago I did a body comparison from how 3387GT's body details were originally, which were (are) actually unique amongst 250 GTOs, at the 250 GTO's maiden race at Sebring, 1962 to how they were for many years before its restoration.

    2nd pic Talacrest.

So much for the originality argument about valuations... the most valuable car in the world has been chopped up to an individual's interpretation? I'd take $20 million right off top. ;)

Here's a pic with the filler in the window and a picture of the first GTO with an even different location for the filler. For some reason, I have stuck in my head that the first 2 GTOs began with the gas filler on the left fender. I've only found pics of the first one with it there, not #3387.. so maybe I'm remembering something incorrectly or whoever may have told me that was simply misinformed

3223GT and 3387GT were the 2 250 GTO development prototypes. 3387GT is said to have initially had the fuel filler in the right rear wing, then the left rear wing, as 3223GT, which was covered up for the Monza Test in early March, 62 and actually placed inside the boot. This is where the rear spoiler was incorporated as well as the Watts Linkage initially tested. The fuel filler was then moved above the boot in the top left corner, as it was at Sebring, 1962 to give more clearance for the wheel inside the wheel well. It was actually the North American Racing Team that moved 3387GT's fuel filler to inside the rear window before Le Mans, 1962 where it remained for much of its racing life.

I believe #3223GT was the 250 GTO that Willy Mairesse crashed while testing the car on the Bologna to Firenze Autostrada as described by Ing. Forghieri in the Davide Cironi video below that led to the Watts Linkage being added to the GTO's specification as well as the reduction in the metal thickness of the helicoidal springs on the rear shock absorbers:

Would it be correct to say this one of the more seldom seen GTO's?

See link here and click on each car for history.

If you are a 250 GTO fan there are a number of good books on the subject including Ferrari 250 GTO by Keith Bluemel with Jess Pourret and Ferrari 250 GTO. The History of a Legend by Anthony Pritchard.

    250 GTO #4153GT.

Pics copyright Palm Beach Cavallino Classic.

There are many pics and videos of 4153 on the net but it's not often you get to see its details such as the engine, interior and boot.

It's had quilted insulation added to the gearbox and drive tunnel.

I did not notice that the last 3 250 GTOs made, the 1964 S2 cars with the Pininfarina designed bodies, were not included in the link above, so they are in the link here.

250 GTO 3757GT Rear Spoiler and Rear Lights at Le Mans, 1962.

3757GT is said to be the first GTO to have received the integrated rear spoiler. However, it initially had a bolted on spoiler and the rear lights were mounted on the raised rectangle, as pictured at Le Mans, 1962 below.
