Evening all, I'm in the process of replacing the speakers in my 1998 F355 GTS and have hit a wall with the tweeters. I got the vent out easily enough but it looks like the bracket that holds the speaker is not only held in place with a 10mm nut, which came off with no problems but also appears to be riveted up and out of the way inside the dashboard itself. I dont think there's anyway of getting the speaker out without removing the dash, or is there??
Any help would again be gratefully received.

Yes I've just this minute been back out in the garage and took out the drivers side vent, only to find there is no speaker in that side! I can see how it would twist in though so will get the passenger side one out tomorrow. Need to work out how to get the radio out then, I used the keys but it seems like it's well and truly fixed in the there, maybe its screwed in at the back

Depends on the radio but a large percentage require you stick a thin metal shim (flathead screwdriver) between the metal brackets on the left and right side concurrently, then will release a metal tab and allow you to slide the radio out the front. If the wiring is too short to allow the radio to fully come through the front, reach under the dash and you can unplug everything behind the unit once it starts sliding forward.

The slots for the keys were actually at the top of the radio, I was sliding then in at the sides and nothing was happening so I asked my friend Google and saw the slots were on top. Came out nice and easy when I out them in the right place lol.
I managed to get hold of a set of Focal speakers, a nice Kenwood head unit and an underwear sub so tomorrow is going to be a busy day..

I have a feeling googling "underwear sub" would not be a good thing.

You can rotate the tweeters and take them out of the metal bracket.

I left mine in and unplugged them. Here is the truth. In such a small car the tweeters and mid bass drivers are too far apart. Imaging and phase issues etc. You will get much better sound with high quality coax with adjustable tweeters in the doors with a small amp.
