458 How Many Miles is Too Much?

People refer to garage queen's as bad but, what is the definition of a garage queen? I don't use my ferrari in the winter as the tyres are always cold, they grit the roads and car gets wet and then doesn't dry out in the garage, I also have been unable able to use it that much due to very busy work schedule. If you take out the car for 20 or 30 mile drive each month and warm everything up properly 6 months of the year is that enough to keep things in good shape or should the car be driven more often?

 

I was only able to drive my f355 for 200 miles over past 11 yrs. i changed the oil every 18 months and it was driven to get annual inspections. I just had the major done and the car runs perfectly. No issues.

 

OK so the garage queen issue is really a bit of a myth as long as the car is serviced on schedule, thanks for clearing that up as I was a bit worried I was doing harm to the car for not driving it enough [emoji1360]

 

I have 2 dozen cars - 20 of which are toys. I over service all of them. If i did 50 percent of the maintenance i do i bet i wld see same results. Leave synthetic oil in your garage for 2 years. It wont get dirty and it wont deteriorate. Rubber and plastic wears out from sun and extreme changes in temp and humidity. If you store your cars in temp and humidity controlled environments you are fine.

Really?, Bad synchro cost 30K in my old R8 manual. Unfortunately, the prior owner had abused the car although I bought the car from a dealer with only 3K miles. Audi doesn't repair the transmission, replaces it. R8 is a great car, so is the 458. Don't think for a minute that service is that much cheaper in the R8.

I know the drill. I have been doing forums for 15+ years. It can and does get tiresome. I struggle with it sometimes, but try to just not post instead of venting. My success rate is probably poor .

 

We all have opinions. Some are informed, some are not. Some are right, some are not mine

I am just trying to lighten up the situation.

 

There shld be conditions that need to be met if someone is going to have X number of posts per Y unit of time per Z car owned. That wld exponentially make things better here.

I've had my moments with noone1 but i wouldn't like to think we've lost our best form of free entertainment.

I think the trick is with Noone is that you don't feed him to much response or he just keeps coming back....as in there is no end unless you make the first move by not replying him. Other than that some his stuff does have certain merit even if he doesn't own any cars. I think he's part of the furniture here and to boot him off the island permanently without leaving at least a leaky life raft for him to climb back onto is a bit cruel.

 

If he comes back im gone.

Look I got banned for calling his BS nonsense out which for some crazy reason everyone hadn't even noticed for years and years up until then...and were siding with him, so now you're all awake to him he's a problem? C'mon! Let's all not get ourselves too self righteous over this. And giving ultimatums never ends well btw. I think if he needs to reeled in and given a few days off for being disrespectful or overly pesky fair enough but to straight up sacrifice him onto the rocks isn't right.
