Id bet yes. I didn’t know westcoasta existed until a few posts ago. There is no reason for him have me in ignore but he does. Sent from my iPhone using MotorInteractive
Just a suggestion. Anybody want to join me and talk about cars, driving or racing? Question is. Should we revive this thread for the OP and talk about his possible 458 purchase, or is it better left as a warning for future generations. It's the thread equivalent of Pripyat...
Ok you guys feel free to fire away. I've got nothing to add since my recent run down the mountains and back - been holed up on the beach with cars on tender - booked track days all cancelled on me. Have some very good memories on my last run though. A few good surfing tales but that's it for now. Hope to change that very soon!
GEEZUS. Can you all just call down a little???? Take a step back, deep breath, whatever it takes to try and be civil. WestCoasta's ban is permanent. I'm going to go back through this thread later today, right now I gotta earn a living, then I'll figure out if we need to close it, thread ban anyone, or take other action. IN THE MEAN TIME, just cool it. I know the whole cooped up COVID thing is making us a little crazy, but that's no excuse for this stuff. D
Here is the USA Chin Track Days just opened up and have events for June and on. I am tempted but as my job lists travel ban I know I will be out on the road a lot....plus summer track events in the southern USA is way hot and humid...my prosthetic leg works it self loose....LOL...seriously though...LOL
Well, just got an "all clear" for my Corona, so I'm ready to take on the world again Some tracks are opening up here, so will be going with my buddys Pista Spider and the ST rotors to Knutstorp on May 12 He was there two days ago as well, and had a great time with the brakes. My plan is to spend the day measuring disc temps when not behind the wheel. Then we will go back on the 26th. running OE discs, and see if the claims of temp difference holds up After the 26th. it's on to RSC2 pads, ST rotors again and Castrol SRF fluid. We will be dialling in the car and get that crazy camber and toe setting fixed. Should make for great fun Give me your thoughts on these settings 10mm drop with corner balancing of 42.5/57.5 rather than 42/58. The understeer in stock form is just way too much... Going from 0.73 degrees of camber front to 2.0 degrees. Going from 1 degree of toe out a side, to 1 degree in a side. On the rear thinking of leaving things pretty stock part from the ride heigh of course, but probably set camber to 1.8 - off the top of my head, I believe stock is 1.3. From that vid in the other thread and what I've felt so far, the rear does in fact seem really good. Have had a few good four wheel lift offs going between 130-160 kph, and the rear has been really calm and dead straight, and the car settles incredibly well. That being said, changing from 42/58 to 42.5/57.5 might get it to fly a bit more level. The MPSC2 only have two track days left at most. Interesting. This means they lasted three track days and about 3500 km... Considering getting a used set of Pista wheels for the 488 and run Toyo Proxes R888R in 255 and 315 over the stock 245 and 305. They are more aggressive than MPSC2, but quite a bit less so than Trofeo R and MPSC2R. Okay, I will admit that was a bit of thread hijack, but I think we need to get back to more fun and constructive things
He said he bought a new R8 back in 2008 (when he was 21) he moded it by adding a twin-turbo and sold it 6 months later (after putting 18K miles, damn you thirsty son). Unless some special situation, can you say - $$$ ouch? As for the 12C, he said he owned* it, but acknowledged he didn't like it. *I remember somebody mentioning he was part of a group 'rent/lease/community/share' program for the 12C, not sure - but I wouldn't be surprised though, could that be a reason for his poor experience? It's hard to make a wife out of a hooker. Nothing since... That's the totality of his exotic 'ownership' experience. FYI @exoticcardreamer ([1],[2])
They are not the same person. WestCoasta is actually on the west coast. noone1 is not. noone1 attempted a third user registration this morning, which was permabanned.
Good lord Paul - where do you dig up this stuff. LOL Reading that thread should put to rest any notion on whether no-one should be allowed back here. I just perused the link above and had a headache reading what he wrote. It personified exactly who he was. Full of opinions and no experience. and his vaunted R8 that he keeps talking about he owned for 6 months. Christ. I need a ****ing shower after rereading his posts and the outright drivel that came out of his keyboard.
Buy a new R8, strap on a couple turbos, sell 6 months later (after putting 18K miles) - something tells me it wasn't a 'choice' to sell, but a necessity. Then perhaps get involved in a rent-a-car scheme with an MP4-12C, either way - he said he had another bad experience. Things make more sense, I must say...I would be bitter about exotics too if I had 2 out of 2 fail.
Oh, I think they are friends perhaps virtually only, or at the very least share a similar mindset. BiRdS oF A fEaThEr Yo YO! Again, so predictable and unoriginal. If you are going to troll at least make some folks laugh or surprised right?
One of the first things I've learned when I got into Ferrari is sorry, no; they are not the 'best/fastest/God's gift to man.' I think when somebody like @noone1 standing on the outside looking in don't realize most serious owners know this, and sincerely (here's the key) don't care. We still passionately love the marque similarly to how one would protect say a favorite "sports team." So attempts to poke at the proverbial bear (or shall I say Prancing Horse?) is self-defeating. If anything, it only illuminates one's envy and lack of happiness in life. Philosophically, this got me thinking. Ferrari has a stigma/stereotype of superiority both in terms of their owners and cars. While I hate to personify an object to real-life social dynamics (and boy are their twerps that happen to own a Ferrari, see @WestCoasta when if/when he finally gets one) - it's funny to me the stereotype played out, albeit in a shamelessly embarrassing way again for those "outside the party." (Given his second attempt to get past the velvet rope still this morning, I believe @ttforcefed older yet timeless analogy once again shows its aptness.)
So is westcosta banned? Have never had the chance to interact with him so know nothing about him. With regards to bashing on Ferrari- by all means do so. If you dont like something about the marque or the car, then feel free to say so. But if actual owners and drivers rebut your points, dont be an ass and argue. Accept the fact that perhaps their opinion may be more educated and more informed than yours. That was the biggest problem with noone- He would double down on purely asinine points of view. The infamous drive in auto mode is a prime example. If you say that its fine to drive in auto mode and actual owners repeatedly tell you post after post that its a terrible way to drive these cars, instead of saying- ok I get it, you double down on stupidity. Made no sense to me.
I know right? I haven't heard noone1 or westcoasta talk about their "Billionaire" connections and expertise in financial markets, however. I remember you shut him down when he tried to pull rank that way real quick. You know the expertise where SuperDave and Bradwilliams both said that only fools would not sell their homes/stocks/assets back in 2015....
brad destroys more value than he creates. dont see how over the past 12 years the market hasn't presented him with an opportunity to buy and enjoy an exotic car.
Indeed! I'm no stranger to eating humble pie, even on this board. One time I made a $500 wager with a person that they didn't own a car, they showed evidence, I apologized, gave them $500 willingly and conceded. No shame in being wrong and admitting to it.
We generally do a check for multiple registrations once a user appears on the radar or gets this much attention. If you hear nothing and see nothing from us, then there's generally not a connection.
I’m with shadowfax who I think summarized it well. If he violates the rules warn, then short term ban then longer term ban then permaban. Easy. But every time he comes back secure a written commitment to follow norms. At the end he either shapes up or is gone. As shadowfax noted this was a gang up... And some of the posthumous discussion was quite funny and glad to see the sense of humor some have! Others seem quite content to only hear their own opinions reflected. That has been the death-knell of so many other boards! And I hope this is my final opine on this subject! RayJohns is trying to help someone with a battery issue! SV Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Please end this thread, I just spent time reading the last 100 posts looking for something about the milage and it's all just about noone, please can we either get this back on track or shut it down? I'm actually interested in peoples opinions on the subject of milage especially as in the UK we seem to be way more milage conscious then the rest of the world
Less than 30k miles is great. Over 40k not end of world but acquisition price shld reflect the mileage as 458 are plentiful and not hard to buy. Plenty of supply. Sent from my iPhone using MotorInteractive
