0113 S was extensively customised/modified in 1957 in Italy, seven years after it was born. Some may say it is a period (partial) rebody.

That is how the Scuderia shield was in period on the left side of 250 GTO 3527GT, which was recently repainted in its correct and original Rosso Cina colour along with removing the incorrect door handles fitted by Graber around 1965, replacing them with the correct door buttons. Interior has been left as fitted by O'Rourke Trimmers in 2006, along with the wind up glass windows, also fitted by Graber around 1965.

I certainly favor historical accuracy. But when a privateer in period freelances something so bizarrely- aping the factory shield (indicating a factory team car, which this wasn't), and in such a bizarre placement- I'd be in favor of leaving the past in the past.
To be clear, Steve, I appreciate the information you're conveying.
I would just have a hard time personally with choosing to recreate that particular facet of 3527's appearance.

I know(!) Always loved that pic :D Points, I guess, for hand painting it. But it is, indeed, quite ridiculous. :p

5587GT. Said to have been rebodied by Brandoli in alloy.
