Just to add to this, 8047 was also the 65 Earls Court Motor Show car as I recall via Col Ronnie Hoare who was the UK importer at the time. I remember now the stock card for it (pre computer dealer stock records!) showed a purchase price in 1977 of £2750 plus £850 for the Borrani's!
I will dig out my late 1980's photos of it and upload them asap.

Here you go - 8047 circa 1988 - note the Fiat Panda in the background of the last photo!

YY18 was removed soon after I took these pictures and it became TEU36C (as this was done at the Bristol DVLC office it got a local No) and is now GGJ9C.

It is now back to it's original blue and without the Borrani's which were fitted by Ian Swift.
Sold by Talacrest at some point Andrew latterly by Tom Hartley Jnr who both have it on their sold galleries on their websites.

Does anyone know where it is now, I fond memories of this car?

On 275's were the "nerf" bars attached to the front bumpers factory installed?

Chromed front grille guards were optional.
And later Pininfarina installed some on 330 GTC's.

That chrome trim / bar always fitted in nicely and looked good I thought.

If you look closely at the front-on shot, there was some damage to the lower valance area, as if it struck something or was incorrectly lifted. I do recall it being In the shop for this.

Comparing these pictures of 08047 between my photo in the 80's to when last supplied shows it now minus the bar so I assume along with removing the Borrani's took it back to factory spec.
Notice the bumpers are different too as I guess they don't need to curve in and support the nose bar?

I recall there was a bar in the passenger footwell, presumably to tuck you feet under on onto when being driven or raced?

The standard 275 GTB Long Nose bumpers all curve in to the radiator grille, as can be seen in the pic you posted. All 275s have a passenger footwell bar.

Non standard on 08047 was the alloy body and 6 carburettor set up.

So the bumpers are the same - maybe it's the angle (quality!) of my pic that makes it look different?
The bar made sense to have to protect the alloy nose...

Are you sure the date was 1977? £2,750 seems very cheap for an alloy 6 carb 275 GTB in 1977. How many miles had it done?

Yes, definitely 1977. If I am wrong at all on the £2750, then maybe £3750 but for sure it was all in with the Borrani's well under £5000.
This was a motor dealer so it might have been brought in as part of a deal etc....

A Mr Wheeler came down from Maranello Concessionaires to appraise it (needing restoration as you can see in my pics) around 1988 and valued it at £125,000 which back then seemed such a lot of money....hindsight is a wonderful thing.

I think it had 53,000 miles on it (or slightly under) when I knew it.

any idea on what that green color is called? very nice, interesting how the bumper less really changes how you look at the car.

does the green car nose at the center point look longer than the silver car - or is it the fact that bumpers are gone?

That green is a fantasy color. NOT Verde Medio. That particular car was originally Giallo Fly, not green. It is red today.

No, it is not. It's just a repaint with a fantasy green. Today this car is red. Born yellow.

Not a new bumper but the old original bumpers.
    Car is red today (unfortunately).
