Nope, straight from in tank pump to injectors. Might be a mesh screen on the pump inlet, cant remember.
Reviving this thread. Very weird that their isn't an actual filter. Tanks are always full of debris and a simple mesh filter wouldn't be near enough filtration.
Just replaced my pump at 28k mi. There was nearly zero particles as I think the tank is aluminum. Seems totally fine design.
I also replaced my pumps on a 1999 360 a few months ago. Inside of the tanks was a mirror like finish with zero contaminants.
