Amazing find. Very complete and original car at first glance (Apart from stereo). Could be a excellent starting point for a restoration project if it was for sale.

    Such a shame!

Unbelievable somebody would let a car like that deteriorate like that.

Sad. What a waste of a beautiful car. It looks like it would need more work than it's worth. Everything seems rusted.

Evidently was owned by some Saudi 'Prince' then this owner somehow acquired it ...and been standing in drive since 2008 ,or so .

Restoration cost GBP 100K? Once done GBP 200K?

Interesting project for someone with the skills, otherwise the cost would astronomical?

Thanks Marcel, yes indeed the engine number is incorrect, very often entries of engine number in F-register tend to be the copy of the chassis number, when I assume the user does not have access to the real data for the engine.

Thanks for sharing, I was very sad the the owner would not do a deal with me of any kind. Not even allow me to clean the car and cover it !!!

I will keep trying with the owner as I could easily get this back on the road, The Ratarossa was in far worse condition than this bbi

People are paying big dollars for untouched "barn find" cars in auctions. You may have actually devalued the car by removing the leaves and moss from the intakes :D

Scott, maybe the "owner" isn't the owner? Where I live the owner is the one person who can present/prove the ownership of the cars registration document. If you don't have this document you can not sell the car. How is it in UK?

    Wow!
If the chassis tubing is solid and the engine isn't frozen I think this could be revived pretty well. It's a shame the owner is just letting it decay. Someone should call the S.P.C.B and have them take it to a foster home.

It's just a clever joke -- in the US, we have the SPCA (The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) that will literally seize animals from bad owners for not treating them well. So John wants The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Boxers (SPCB) to step in and save this Boxer from this terrible owner -- and this case proves that we need a SPCB! ;)

Well the good news today is the car has at least been taken into some secure dry storage.

I'll continue to try and talk sense into the owner and even if it means helping him clean it and fix it up Ill gladly lend my time free to save this BBi

I mentioned the state of this car to Mike Wheeler at Rardley Motors, who had previously sold the car, what I thought was a couple of years ago, but upon checking turns out to have been five years ago (time flies!). A colleague of his went round to see if the owner was interested in selling then but he wasn't and it seems to have continued to sit there in the meantime.

In the USA, it will cost almost double to restore the car.
