Shields on 812 Superfast/GTS

They do look awesome and especially on a large car with big fenders they complete it. Hope you covered the whole car in PPF, you never know with hood rats these days

I came out the other day and found a girl sitting on my hood. Her friend was taking pics and insta tweeting it I think. To add insult to injury, the girl was very chubby

 

if a fender needs replacement after a crash (knock on wood), how will a ferrari paintshop do a hand painted shield?

 

Not....gonna...happen

They are about £7000

in the UK one dealer Is authorised to paint them. HR Owen.

Here in Switzerland they are almost 13000 CHF I should order in the UK my future cars [emoji56]

I can only recommend to do the painted shields - suits the car perfectly and apparently even many „Non-Ferraristi“ notice the difference to the standard shields I have noticed lately.

Yes, they do not come for free but I would rather cut back on some carbon in order to add them on the final spec list. IMO it will even increase the relative attractivity for resale. In the past 8 months there were only a hand full of 812‘s on the secondary market in Central Europe with painted shields and they were not online for a long time. Clearly, they usually have a better spec than for example the standard rosso corsa/ black interior/minimal carbon (autoscout is full of them) and are therefore more expensive but still painted shields are being looked after. I know personally some one who is actively looking for decent 812 with painted shields in Central Europe but has not been lucky so far.

My dealer told me when I ordered my 812 that Ferrari doesn't offer painted shields. I said I've seen them on other cars on the internet and he said then they are not from Ferrari. I was curious as to how much they charge for them.

They do but as far as I know you must spec them out on a Tailor Made Ferrari and perhaps also Atelier. I do not believe the dealer has the option to spec a normal Ferrari with painted shields

 

Chubby not good for the bonnet !

 

Your dealer can’t be serious - ferrari have offered this for several years - I’ve been having painted shields from ferrari from the factory on 3 of my last cars / as others have said comes in at about £11-12k inc VAT - and sooooo worth it ! My 1st painted shields ferrari was my 599 Alonso - after that I’ve been hooked on my V12s having painted shields .

As a lot of people have said this is not true (in the US anyway). I ordered them for my 812 GTS and the cost was $14,343 USD.
