Somehow I doubt if carrozzerria scaglietti converted the pototype 11929 later into a Spyder as the advert says.

Take a look at the front inner wings, they are still fibre glass as per the coupe and not braced steel inner front wings as the Spyder’s were.

    So do I.
The "current UK owner" approached me a few days ago.

But it is a Sept. 1968 built “prototype“ 1967 Scaglietti Spyder (conversion), so perhaps all those came that way. o_O

The add says its was converted in 70/71. It was a prototype coupe to start with in 1968.
The spyder prototypes where made in 1969.

It was stated by the OP William Halkiw in 2015 (and then owner?) in this thread that Scaglietti did not do the Spyder conversion and was done much later.

NOTE WELL the statement regarding the official Ferrari "red book" from the Car and Classic advert below: ;)

Grant, if by chance this ^^ is in response to my comment above yours, I’d like to clarify that mine was offered in jest to one by Ed prior to it.

If I understood correctly, the Canadian owner who opened this thread had the project to restore the car in berlinetta configuration, but resold it before doing so? Hopefully someone will make the right decision.

Speaking of Daytona prototypes, I recall an interesting pre Daytona "mule" sort of at Motorkraft near Chicago long ago. Mostly a 275GTB/4 body with a Daytona looking engine, (3 valve?) with something a little different about the nose as I recall. John called it a pre Daytona test bed. He thought there may have been two of these made. Interesting car and possibly an ally body, but not sure as it was a long time paet. Any ideas?

wonder why the headlights were converted to pop ups? and when?
the market turned just after the OP purchased car, thus making conversion to coupe form financially prohibitivr and forced him to sell?

Just read all recent threads on this website related to VIN and my earlier comment should become obvious.
    Nothing nefarious or overly cryptic.

I noticed that the wheels on the first Daytonas are different from standard. The spokes are thinner. So if anyone ever decides to restore 11929 back to original, it would be a challenge to find the correct wheels. Or have them made to order. They do make the Daytona look quite different somehow.

I too consider it a restamp and am sure that the actual raised boss (surface) has been filed off/flattened out prior to a restamp.
Also, the area where the internal number GTB 6 is stamped has clearly been fiddled with.
