More Tesla propaganda I'm afraid. All the wonderful things will happen "later this year or early next" and no journalist will ever go back to compare the actual outcome to what was promised. I've been following battery technology for 20 years, was once excited about such "breakthroughs" as the liquid metal battery and was involved in a couple of battery tech startups. Slowly I realised that the promised solution to the raft of well known battery problems was always just around the corner, but never actually delivered, largely because we're up against the laws of physics and thermodynamics. Battery technology develops in slow, small steps, all of the easy gains have been around for a long time now.
interesting video showing how cams are made. Comp cams are the best and great value, the cam + roller lifters kit I used in the Vette was US$300!
Guess we'll have to check back next year... the Italian liquid battery seems to be making slow progress.

More Appleroth news in the Sydney Moring Herald. Ferrari battle attempts to engage stealth mode Image Unavailable, Please Login Herbert Appleroth. Illustration: Joe Benke Credit: Ferraris were never designed to be inconspicuous. So is it any wonder that former head of Ferrari in Australasia Herbert Appleroth and the Italian car maker have had so much trouble keeping the hood down on their legal battle despite Appleroth’s abandonment of the case last month and attempts to suppress all details. An interlocutory application relating to his contract dispute was back before the Federal Court on Thursday as another party attempted to keep their identity under wraps. For those who haven’t been following the prancing horse saga, Appleroth - an heir to the Aeroplane Jelly fortune - was slumming it as the local Ferrari boss until last year when his employment was terminated over a workplace affair that ended up looking like a high-speed car crash. According to court documents Appleroth’s relationship with a subordinate soured after she became pregnant and bore him a son. The Aeroplane Jelly heir argued that affairs of this nature were routine at the luxury automaker and reached all the way to the top of the company. He even named names, alleging Maurizio Arrivabene, head of the Scuderia Ferrari Formula One Team, and Luca Zanetti, global head of sales, had conducted affairs with employees without getting the sack. But back to proceedings. On Thursday, a mystery lady made an interlocutory application to extend last week’s confidential court order which might reveal her identity. The court was told of a medical condition that was mentioned in court documents. If it became public, the condition would make her identity clear to people in the lady’s “inner circle’’. Justice John Snaden granted the order, saying it was “necessary to protect the safety of your client”, and extended the confidentiality of his earlier order until Friday, June 11, 2021. https://www.smh.com.au/national/ferrari-battle-attempts-to-engage-stealth-mode-20200611-p551rz.html
The articles just keep rolling on - just out in the Australian Ferrari executive Appleroth: ‘keep mum on love child’ https://www.theaustralian.com.au/business/ferrari-executive-herbert-appleroth-disowned-love-child/news-story/c83acfc4ffde8dc42ecbcc6e38280433 Former Ferrari Australasia boss Herbert Appleroth asked his female junior co-worker to sign a confidentiality agreement in relation to his paternity of their love child and has no involvement in the baby’s life, court documents allege. Mr Appleroth, an heir to the Aeroplane Jelly fortune, has alleged he was unfairly sacked as chief executive and managing director of Ferrari Australasia last October because of his affair with the employee. The 47-year-old asked her during the later stage of her pregnancy to enter into a non-disclosure agreement “concerning his paternity” of the child, and she agreed, according to a report by the woman’s psychologist filed in court on Thursday. It says Mr Appleroth was not involved with the woman, now a single parent, or their child “outside legal correspondence”. As previously revealed by The Weekend Australian, Mr Appleroth launched Federal Court action in May, seeking about $3m from Ferrari in remuneration, entitlements and penalties, before discontinuing the proceedings about two weeks later. He claimed the affair, which ended after the woman became pregnant, was not against company policy and that it was a “notorious fact” within Ferrari that senior executives “routinely” engaged in sexual relationships with more junior staff. The psychologist’s report, released on Friday, reveals the enormous toll of the events on the woman. It says the “interpersonal strain” and “employment-related stress” caused her to suffer psychological injuries. The Federal Court agreed this week to make an order protecting the identity of the woman and the child for a year. The woman lodged a worker’s compensation claim with Ferrari last year after contacting the company about a potential return to work following her maternity leave, according to Mr Appleroth’s court documents. Her allegations included that Mr Appleroth tried to talk her into a termination of her pregnancy, and that he had subjected her to verbal abuse. She also alleged Ferrari had been looking at ways to “get rid of” her if she returned to work, and gave her unfair performance assessments. Mr Appleroth’s court documents accused two of Ferrari’s most senior executives — former head of the Scuderia Ferrari Formula One Team Maurizio Arrivabene, and the company’s global head of sales, Luca Zanetti — of engaging in consensual sexual relations with more junior staff. The allegations have not been tested in court because Mr Appleroth discontinued his action against Ferrari, citing concerns for the privacy of his family. He has a six-year-old daughter to his ex-wife. At the time of his relationship with his co-worker, Mr Appleroth was also in a relationship with Sydney woman Bahar Etminan, founder of women’s lifestyle site Rescu. Mr Appleroth was marched from Ferrari in October and told not to return. He said publicly that he had left to pursue his venture capital fund and philanthropic foundation.
now the media is recycling the same information for clickbait. The tone is also envy driven and, whilst pretending to be sympathetic to the lady involved, is revelling in the sensation.
True The fact that he made her sign a confidentiality agreement re paternity and has no contact with the child speaks volumes of his character IMO. Deserves all the flack and more
Agree Greg...What a POS of a human being...He must have been born in the Wuhan Lab...Worse than a virus...
Who did he cheese off though for national media to be pushing so hard on this? Is the girl ‘someone’s’ daughter or is Ferrari annoyed about his comments re the other blokes?
You're overthinking it. There's very little journalism any more - this is a story they'll milk for all it's worth. Ian's right; it's click bait.
Ed Zachary. If he had been the Australian Head of Kia, you would see one article and then the journalists would move on to the next “story” in the 24 hours news cycle.
Absolutely. I see no reason to keep repeating ‘heir to the aeroplane jelly fortune’. It certainly seems jealousy driven. Pathetic journalism really. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I dunno, those KIA Stingers are ferkin quick !!! I'm still kicking myself getting the Lexuzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz when I should have picked the Stinger !!! Took the Stinger for a squirt and using launch control I think the damn thing is quicker than Satan and then the good angel said to me "you'll lose your license in a week in this thing as a daily driver "
FFS you can’t compare a Lexus to a Kia!...I recon Lexus still provides better after sales service than all other makes. Especially the wankers at Mercedes and Porsche..
