Best manifolds for F355

Hi All,

Long term UK based lurker here but first post! I have a 2.7 355 and one of the manifolds is a little loose (well some slight play when wiggling the cat end whilst it is bolted tightly onto the head) It is a long term keeper for me so what do you all reckon is the best option for manifold replacement please?

 

I don’t want to be one of those guys that’s says use the search function but this has been covered ad nauseam. It’s Tubi headers they are the best. If your a purist and want to remain OEM and not drive the car hard replace with OEM and hope they don’t fail.

the tubi heat shield is such high quality compared to the OEM - they look fantastic

 

Tubi's are regarded as the best...but I think for the same price you could get set of custom ones made out of titanium.

 

That is really the big difference IMO. These cars cook anything in the engine compartment and without the heat shielding you run the risk of melting wires and other essential items. The my dealer has even seen the parking brake shielding melt because they were running un-shielded manifolds.

 

You probably can’t go wrong with any aftermarket headers. The main difference between them is their design affects the sound out of the exhaust.

So search YouTube and f-chat to see what users say about that and go with the brand that meets your budget and what you like in the sound department.

For those not wanting to break the bank, Tubi actually has a new distributor in the US and new dealers.

I ordered my tubi headers from Russ at Ferrparts. I was very surprised by their new reasonable pricing compared to the past. I got mine for around $3800... They used to be WAY higher...

The good news is that Tubi are the same design and have the same sound as oem but use much upgraded steel for lifelong quality. Oem never had that...

When I had my headers custom built, the price was significantly higher than what Robb paid for his (5600-7200) depending on the retailer. That is a very good price and with what the cost of Fabspeeds are compared to the current Tubi pricing, it wouldn’t even be a consideration. OEM design, with thicker 304 s/s and great shielding.

 

I think this is the company that Tubi uses for its header insulation. I don’t know if they just offer their products to manufacturers or if they would do headers for owners upon request.

$3800 for a set of Tubi's is very reasonable. From what I recall they were double that not too long ago...which was why I was suggesting going custom full titanium for that price.

 

Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised at the new pricing. Made me pull the trigger faster. I always saw Tubi’s as the top of the mountain but could not fathom paying 7k for a set when a quality set around 3k could be good. Now seems like a slam dunk.

Tubi USA was the problem with price in the states. If they’ve changed their business partners in the US that’s good news.

Many ordered them from the UK since Brexit and paid n the low 3k. I would check pricing by that route as well

 

Vivid Racing is still listing that at $6720. Eurospares for $4200 US for 2.7 and $4600 for 5.2. Champion Motor sport (US) still lists than for $7350. Certainty advertised prices haven't changed.

 

I think the exchange rate right after Brexit offered a window to take advantage of. I know a few who did.

I was looking at them from Eurospares back in December when they were offering free shipping. The were $4200 for my 2.7 back then too. I don't recall them ever being $3800 US. They are 3800 Euros. Who knows?

This guy in Japan is famous for creating perfect equal lenght headers to create the best sound. The audio on the video for the F355 is a bit lame, but the work he has done for V12 cars and the 458 is incredible. The 458: https://www.ekimani.com/car/post-19/

The headers are beautiful and it'd be interesting to see what they sound like with a proper muffler.

so for the new more affordable price the vote is Tubi I assume even vs Nouvalari headers?
