I was fascinated by the story where the late Vince Gardner , on 1965. stole the 'shorty" Mustang two seater coupe that he designed from Ford and hid it in a rented garage by bricking it up. But then he didn't pay the rent, the garage owner ripped the wall down and the insurance company paid off Ford and sold it Does anyone know what Gardner's long range plan was? Are there any other stories in the auto industry where concept cars disappeared only to re-appear decades later? (Two I am waiting for to re-appear are the Corvette XP-700 and the black Cadillac LeMans of '53.) One such car that has re-appeared was the Two Rotor Corvette, given away by GM VP in charge of Design Chuck Jordan to a visiting British journalist and occasionally seen toodling about Britain today....

Actually the 2 Rotor Corvette was going to be crushed and when Chuck Jordan was advised of this decision the plan was reversed and the car was conveyed to a new owner in the UK.
There was an old story that Pierre S. Ollier had a 1956 Corvette 283 with Fuel Injection and a 4 speed plus disc brakes installed on a development Corvette. No one seems to know what happened to that prototype built for testing new features. The fuel injection was later to be offered for the 1957 Corvettes.

Wow, there's a name from the past. I worked with Pierre in the Cadillac Studio for several years. quite a character. He had an extensive collection of old Cadillacs as well. When he passed away, i was told he left most everything to one of his close friends. But not sure.

I ran across that same fellow, Pierre, in a restaurant at Maple &Woodward in Birningham. When he told me he had an old Corvette I went over there and saw in his garage what looked like an SR2. But it wasn't the missing white one-- that white one is called the SS. not the one they ran at Sebring but one that is more like the other SR2s (that missing one was found but the owner is scared to bring it out in the light of day because of a title problem. ) When i found out the Frenchman's car was only a look-alike SR2 , i lost interest. I cann't tell you what year it was, maybe before 1969.

And of course, here is the front with the signature spindle grill.

Unfortunately, this marks the 3rd refresh of this model with the same engine and chassis offerings. Its greatest weakness is its small size. Probably a glorified Toyota Corolla.

For comparison, this is what the outgoing Refresh #2 looked like.

And this is how the original current platform started out life.

So there I am this morning getting my coffee fix and this parks next to me.
I’m not a Tesla fanboi nor am I a hater.
But those wheels just look wrong. Talk about unsprung weight, and looking like they are heavier than ceement.
The fact that they’re black didn’t further their cause.

What is interesting about those "aero" wheels is that behind the plastic hub cap there is decent aluminum wheel behind it. A lot of people around here remove it to expose the wheel behind
