    While parking the car, if i'm in 1st gear and turn off the engine, i get a message that says parking brake has been engaged and then shortly after i get a "Gearbox not in parking position" message. Not sure what to make of it...anyone else experience this?

    According to the manual,you are supposed to get that message (accompanied by a 5-second alarm) when you turn off the engine in N. You might have to see if the dealer can explain.

    Are you supposed to turn off the engine in N? When I turn off the engine it's in 1st gear.

    You can do it in any gear or in N. I normally back into my parking place and turn it off in R. But if the top is down I go to N and a fast idle while raising the top to avoid stressing the battery. The parking brake is still applied automatically (page 124).
