I contemplating selling my 430 spider and replacing it with either a 599 or F12, and I’m looking for feedback from people who’ve owned both to comment on the primary advantages found in moving to the F12 from 599. I currently also have a 550 and a 675LT spider. I’m not looking to track the car, just weekend enjoyment. Thank you in advance for any thoughts.

Sam I am lucky enough to own a 550, 599 HGTE, f12 and 812. I have done 12k miles in the 599 and 11k in the f12. Both a EUr good cars but the f12 feels far smalller than the 599. The gearbox is in a different league. The power uplift over the 599 and the way it is delivered is remarkable. The f12 looks for me are better than the 812 and 599, but not the 550 in my eyes. If this were a direct pick between the 2 - f12 wins hands down.

Thank you for your thoughts. I really like the looks of the 599 and the perception that is might feel less digital compared to the F12, but ultimately I would probably prefer the overall better car which I’m sure the F12 is.

The F12 doesn't really feel "digital" IMO. The 812 may be another story.

Price, performance, looks I think the F8 is currently the most desirable Ferrari. I’ll have one soon.

I like reading these posts for at least everyone's thoughts, they are so varied.

I have never had a 599, but I have a 612 OTO. I had an F12 and my God performance is superior over the 612 (thinking gears) . But actually i like the look of the 599 over F12. I would have gone backwards only if the 599 could perform similar to the F12. F12 definitely an animal, aggressive, and loud enough for show and tell.
Now I have an 812 and I like it better than the F12 , if only bc it is more manageable, comfortable and quicker also i like the looks better than F12 and a hair better than the 599.
I am very lucky that I can write this opinion.
Good Luck, no decision will disappoint you.

599 is beautiful I've thought about adding one but in place of the F12.

I drove a 599 and an F12 back to back in the canyons and even though the F12 “drove” better, I much preferred the analogue nature of the 599.
I like the looks of the F12, but loved the drive of the 599.
I guess my solution would be a TDF!

F12 is far superior to the 599 in performance and driveability.
    Mostly the gearbox.
Looks are preference. They both are BEAUTIFUL.

Hi, hope you're doing well. I think the Ferrari F12 is probably one of the best value for money Ferrari's. I think the 599 feels more raw and connected, but the F12 and 812 SF are more reliable and easier to drive on a daily basis. But, the only problem that i have with the 812 is its design. It's sharp, aggressive and striking just like other Ferrari's, but there are too much body lines all over the car and makes it look a little fussy. The F12 too has some body lines, but it's more sleeker and gratifying compared to the 812. The side profile of the 812 is what disappoints me. It's scattered with lines and makes it hard to digest. The rear end of the 812 is the only portion of the exterior i have some soft spot for.

Stumbled onto this reviewer from the 599 forum. He compares the 550, 599 and F12 to each other. Here's the 599 and F12 comparison. I've never seen this guy before but he hit the F12 right on the head. Take a look. From the F12 video: "You’ve got to need one in your life. It’s got to do strange things to you." Listen to the engine at 06:30 into the F12 video.

I enjoyed watching all 3 video reviews, thanks for posting them. Usually I find these types of videos difficult to watch because they invariably feature one of the popular vlogers, JWW, shmee, vechicle virgin or Demuro and I find them all to be either tedious or insufferable or both.

599 is beautiful and great value for money. F12 is even better. It is also beautiful, I think its a more elegant design as well. I also think it drives better, is easier to drive and also more engaging if you drive the car with even the slightest amount of spirit (I have noticed some don’t really drive their cars with much passion, and that is fine). It is also more comfortable and sounds much better. With either car be sure its on new Michelin Pilot Supersport or 4S tires and make sure the tires and roads are warm before deploying the power. I would also recommend getting a full alignment done on the car. 599’s are prone to rattling. And the stereo is terrible, if that matters. If money is not an issue, the F12 is simply a massive leap, the 599 being a learning curve on how to go from the older construction to full aluminum monocoque. 812 is in another league, and styling aside, is vastly superior to the F12 in every way.

I enjoy Jay Emm’s videos, but I would like to highlight with these cars the tires are critical, and I have driven the F12b on all different kids of roads and tracks and Ive had the experience like he did, but also, with good tires, and on normal roads but not roads covered in dust or debris, the car will track straight and true when you deploy the power. As a matter of fact, it is much better in this regard than the 599, despite the power increase. That is because the 599 has the first gen F1 TRAC predictive traction control and a standard mechanical locking diff. Whereas the F12 has a much newer generation predictive traction control and the e-diff. Both will work together to propel you forward. Its quite remarkable.

The shop where I service my cars told me the same thing, that the older generation traction control was limiting factor on the 599.

I traded my 599, which was an awesome car, for F12 last summer. I love the looks of both, the F 12 is far racier in that regard. As far as how the car is to deal with on a day-to-day basis, it’s absolutely incredible. Massive power, brilliant handling, and a treasure trove of amenities that make it more livable than the 599.

What amenities make the F12 more livable? Trying to decide between 599 ( great price) or F12(looks ). Thanks
