The Ex of the Studebaker Starliner. A great design that somehow became a dead end for American efforts. Detroit should have been looking at that as their new design language and proportions but didn't. In my view a seriously under appreciated design. Image Unavailable, Please Login The other Ex is the Duesenberg. When the Duesenberg program ran out of money the design was resurrected as the 2 door to become the Stutz. Do note how the body side is simpler in this version that what the Stutz did with the classic fender line. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
That Studebaker was indeed way ahead of its time. Much leaner than what Harley Earl was doing at GM at the time.

Busy busy busy bus...................... Doesn't anyone know when to drop the pencil/mouse any longer? I daresay you could no longer do a Lusso or an XKE in todays world.......
Agree, most of the designs today didn't know when to lift the brush. That's why the Roma is significant IMO. They knew when enough was indeed enough.
Kind of reminds me of the front of a Pontiac Aztec that looks like two different crushed cars stacked together on the way to the melt furnace; except the C8 looks like 3 different levels stacked in the rear.

They must have had 50 writers to come up with all that prose laid on so thickly. The slanted "A" pillar was demonstrated well. What was the purpose of the video? (It was 22 minutes long.) To train dealers on the complete line or for short commercials in movie theaters for individual models? The best line... Image Unavailable, Please Login
