Looks like a nice slab of fish. I thought terror was kind of meh the first time I did it. Pan fried as well. Next times, I grilled them whole, and then after that as filets, over wood/charcoal fire. Much better with a hint of smoky flavor. Try them on grill next time?

Semi homemade baked beans. Cannelini beans, ketchup, liquid smoke, Steens cane syrup, Cajun seasoning, fresh cracked black pepper, onion flakes, apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, garlic powder. About 4 strips of bacon. I microwaved it about 4 x 60 secs on a paper towel to wick off some of the fat. Chopped it finely, added to the beans.

My brother and I used to fight over who'd get the little nub of bacon when we were kids! This would have solved that issue!

Wagyu boneless short ribs from Dartagnan.

Got the special wagyu dispensation from the wife to cook a little more rare than normal. Cut against the grain.

Tasty, but I try and go light on them. The dogs got a few of these. Lucky dogs!
    The veggies were awesome.

I could try grilling them - lot of effort for two little filets. I'll cook a couple hotdogs or steaks on the side!

Hot dogs are always a good CYA backup plan for the grill in case option # 1 goes awry!

Thanks. I stumbled upon the Serious Eats recipe, as I was looking for something to do with the short rubs than the traditional braising methods, seeing how it was wagyu. It was about 4 or 5 min of flipping the meat around over a hot fire, to get a good char on all sides, then about 5 or 6 min over the indirect part of the fire. We've been very pleased with the wagyu we got from D'Artangan...T

Love poke! Last time we were in Hawaii, and in the Ninth Island (Vegas), tried it at a few places. I like to add a little sambal to balance the sweet.

I wasn't planning on the pot stickers becoming dinner. I just ate too many of them.......... I'm not sure what the plan for tonight is. I feel like Americanized Chinese food, sweet and sour chicken balls is the craving. Seeing if my brother and parents will come over, so I can get the dinner for five. If not maybe fish tacos from the taco shop.

Did Chinese food with brother and parents. Was the dinner for four this time. Going to get sashimi and rolls tonight. Trying a new place with five stars on TripAdvisor. Their online menu has some Korean dishes. Most of our Japanese restaurants are Korean owned.

Last night was Shake N Bake pork chops. Wife carped that it was only cooked until 20 F higher than CDC recommended temp, but these were bone in chops, so they weren't completely dried out.

Another old school favorite. Sweet carrots. Fresh carrots - peel and dice. Simmer in water, Steens cane syrup, dill until tender. Remove carrots, reduce liquid until a syrup. Add carrots back in, mix. This was the mother in law's favorite side dish...T
