Photo negative I'd like to buy on ebay USA however the seller is charging around £20 postage and the same in import charges when it reaches the uk(for a photo negative around 2 inches square).
Would anyone stateside consider buying and posting to me in the UK?
    Thanks in advance
    Lewis.

Will it be cheaper that way? Wouldn't anyone have to pay the same charges that ships overseas? Have a link to the item?

The problem is Ebay’s Global Shipping Program. They charge shipping + import duty which includes Ebay’s charges for managing the process. The problem is, and I’ve told Ebay this but they are not interested - they are charging import duty ( I.e. tax) on items that are not taxed in the UK. Books and printed items are not taxed in the UK but Ebay still charge the tax.
Ebay USA sellers should be aware that if they use Ebay’s GSP that they are losing sales. I won’t buy from anyone using Ebay’s GSP because it will cost me a lot more than it should.

    Hi Nathan,

Yeh the difference is staggering, I regularly buy negatives from a seller in Canada and another in the US and they charge a couple of dollars postage.
    £20 is just ludicrous.

Thanks to Matt S for helping out with this. Negatives arrived yesterday, postage cost $1.61. Thanks for that Matt

+1 eBay also charges State sales tax based on the seller's location even though many items are exempt.
