I thought he drove very well considering his inferior strategy and staggeringly underperforming car.

Why so? A minute advantage at initial launch can be a massive benefit 'til the first turn...... ;)

Well, Seb was right about that: The Ferraris have been terrible on softs all though last season, too.
Ferrari seems to burn up softs faster than any other car on the grid.

That's how Seb wound up so far in front of Charles -- Leclerc was trying to stretch dead softs, because he was told to wait for the rain --- until he had a parade waiting to pass him.

Ferrari screwed up both drivers - putting Leclerc on softs and pitting Vettel too early costing him 7 seconds in the pits and three positions on track that he ended up having to overtake. He'd have easily been 5th without that. The car isn't good enough to be making stupid mistakes like that. 2 bad races in a row for Leclerc.

Max is currently the only driver outperforming his machinery.

OK, but still allowing that leeway while being so anal about the pit communications is idiotic.

Leclerc did a masterful job holding off faster cars with that pig of a Ferrari on dead tires.

Those will be useful skills, if Ferrari can build a car that can get out of its own way.
    And stop screwing up strategy.

'Don't know about "righteous" but it's happened to all teams and 'certainly not the first time for Ferrari. ;)

Thank goodness I missed the race!

Why not just give elton his 7th championship now and throw the rest of this season in the bin!

Impossibla.... If a driver performs a certain act with his machine, then it is quite apparent the machine itself is capable of performing it.
There is no such thing as "110%" of something. All of it there is is 100%. ;)

Looking good but I need more "coming of" age before I'll go with having "come of" age...... :)

You missed a bunch of good racing. Some questionable strategies but so be it. If the rain came, who knows?.....
Because there's some of us that are enjoying watching 10 of the best, if not THE best, racing teams on the planet plying their trade.
Also......"just" doesn't cut it in business.

    :)

Max is driving the wheels off of that Redbull. I never understood why Ricci would leave RB to go to a midfield team. RB would definitley be stronger in the constructor's title if they had Ricci

Ricci left for a number of reasons:

1.) Favoritism towards Max from RedBull.
2.) Renault would make Ricci a defacto #1.
    3.) $ 30 million from Renault.

And he hadn't seen the podium since. Still seems like a backwards move

Ricci faced subtle bias that was evident enough for him to know he was not about to be treated the same. Baku was the last situation and he knew it.

Because he was forced into nr.2. Staying was a known dead end.

True, but at this point in his career, that didn't matter to him.

The move, at least to me, doesn't do him any discredit as a driver. He's still up there equal to Max or slightly behind Max.

Seems like he/Renault is at a dead in as we speak. Still, who knows what will happen in the future, Max could have went to another team, anything could happen. If he had stuck it out with RB his chances of seeing the podium again would be greater

When Horner/Marko are not on your side - You have no hope. They committed to Max early.

Have it your way, he's the one pushing his machinery the closest to it's limit. So far he's a teammate killer like Alonso, makes them look like also rans with the exception of Ricciardo.
