    All,

First post, but been lurking for a while and reading voraciously. Took the leap today and ordered my first F car... a 2021 F8 coupe.

Just wanted to say THANK YOU to all of you as I’ve learned so much. The amount of knowledge here is, frankly, a bit overwhelming. That said, I’m looking forward to learning more and contributing wherever I can.

    Best,
    Rick

Thanks guys! I'm waiting on the official spec sheet to be emailed, but in summary this is where I'm currently at (mostly from memory, so forgive me if I flub something...)

    Exterior:
    • EXTC - Rosso Corso (..and I intend to wrap the roof black)
    • COLL - Bonnet insert in black
    • LOGO - Shields
    • RMSV - Forged Wheels
    • CALY - Yellow Calipers
    • CEIS - Carbon Splitter
    • CEXF - Carbon headlight insert
    • EXA3 - Sport exhaust
    Interior:
    • Nero
    • RSFE - Full Power Seats
    • STC2 - Red stitching
    • CSB1 - Red belts
    • RVEN - Red ring on vents
    • EMPH - Cavallino in headrest
    • CIDL - Carbon driver zone + LEDs
    • Added dreamline on paddles
    • CITZ - Carbon upper tunnel trim
    • CIDH - Carbon door handles
    • CILR - Carbon bridge
    • FLMA - Colored mats with logo
    • SNDH - Upgraded sound
    I'm on the fence about:
    • Lifter (and required leveling headlights)
    • Passenger display
Thoughts? Ideas? Where did I goof?

    Thanks again,
    Rick

Can't go wrong with Red and Back!!! Love the interior with the red accents...nice!

I live in Tampa...I had a front lift on my 2018 GT3...never used it. My 488GTB I got did not have the lift and I do not miss it.

As far as the passenger display....I have experienced this and think it is cool for the passenger. So you need to thing who is your passenger and how many passengers will you have in the car. For me personally my wife is a passenger and could care less about the rpm and speed reading. I never have anyone else really in the car and 90% of the driving I do by myself. So the passenger read out would be a waste of money for me and I might not get it. I guess it all depends on your finances and wants.

I would definitely get the lifter and pass on the passenger display. Cars without a radio or lifter are difficult to sell!

I would not get the passenger display. If you’re driving with your wife and she’s like my wife every time you’re revving fast she’s going to get upset and then you gonna look at her and say hey I’m only going 35 and she’s gonna know you’re lying.

My personal opinion on the lift is that it’s useless. But some people seem to like it.

IMO I would add Passenger Display , much better than the one in my 488 GTB

Leather the back of your seats and leather the roof line. The roof liner is so so so cheap, nasty scouring pad material.

For continuity I would either carbon every single part outside or leave it all black , same goes for interior. Don't just do some parts. It will look awkward.

Have a think about the red stitching , as I did. The red has been done to death on black as is ever other special Japanese car. It also gets lost in the black. Think about white or light grey as it outlines the black leather so well.

What about wheels , calipers , Taco ?

We are all different so do chose what you like.

I had the scrape plate on my 488 but I had numerous places where I could have used the lifter so I spec'd it on my 812. I use the lifter often on the 812. I got the passenger display in the 812 and it's pretty useful if the passenger wants to control the music. My grandson likes it the most but truthfully, it's a gimmick and probably not worth $6k, I was just in a spendy mood when I included it.

One of the nicest additions is the headliner in leather...well worth it...

The optional headliner- alcantara or leather, is a must.

Is the OEM material the nylon technical fabric? I quite like it.

I added that to my car, I think the option code is ULEZE. That option was not listed on the pricing spreadsheet, what was the price on it?

It does come with contrast stitching. It look very nice. The standard fabric is a very rough, cheap acrylic.

Ha! What option isn't pricey? Ordering my first Ferrari and my eyes are popping at how much more Ferrari charges for everything.

Actually the option “Upper part in colored leather” ULEZ is the $ 2362. I think you also have to add a dealer spec option ULEZE (Headliner Special Colors) to get the rectangular area above your head in colored leather or alcantara. So I don’t know what the additional charge is for ULEZE, but if you don’t spec it you get the black Brillo pad headliner.

Being my first Ferrari I went with the front lifter which I do use on my 458 and I know it’s gimmicky but I got the passenger display. Something fun for you passenger to enjoy.

    Congrats!

You guys have definitely given me a few things to think about... I'm going to ask about the headliner options tomorrow. I did add the parking sensors (on the off chance the wife takes it for a ride!) and the garage door opener option.

The PDIS is something I keep going back and forth on. Personally, I think it is cool...but will the "coolness" wear off after you use it once? Decisions, decisions..

50/50 on the lifter as well... $7500 option and I'm not sure I'll really need it. I'm in South Florida where it's as flat as a pancake. Dealer says lifters are almost required outside of our area, but not taken too often on Florida cars - except the Miami guys who have to deal with steep parking garage inclines.

Thanks again for all the thoughts, comments, etc! Learning a lot!
