so they can give the F8 2 additional years of production time. Milking the 458 platform for 15 years is equal parts lazy and equal parts the 458 platform being one of the best in automotive history.

Listen, none of knows what Ferrari is going to do. But based on the fact that F8 was a last minute thought, the V6 hybrid is right around the corner, SF90- SOLD OUT - hybrids are here to stay and regular V8 engines are going to be a thing of the past.

You’re 100 correct until the hybrids are phased out and we’re all driving electric cars.

Based on so many posts many believe there wont be a F8 VS. Fair enough but who really knows ?

The Covid 19 has created so much sxxt that there are delays everywhere.

Fact that LB is delayed and F8 will run at least 3 years > 2022

Purely marketing why not make a limited number 80 anniversary ? I would.

First- the F8 run has not been confirmed for 3 years as far as I know. You keep repeating but has that officially been confirmed? I’ve only read that it’s a 2 year run.

Second, can you name a time in the History of Ferrari where they have done the Lambo playbook? Limited edition on top of limited edition on top of limited edition for the same model. I’m not aware of any but happy to be corrected.

488/Pista/F8 - all the same body with a different front end. All essentially the same car. And what you are saying is they will come out with an F8 VS with yet another different front end?

Enough already- let’s move on to a new platform.

Btw- little brother being delayed is what led to the F8. I mean they are behind but not that far behind. It’s not delayed any further.

I wouldn't suggest they would change the body at all. Look at the Pista certain upgrades that would be on a 488 are standard.

Frankly it could just be a 80th anniversary , every carbon part available standard and limited .

Does it make a difference to the world , no.

Im just speculating that my dealer said there would be . Is he right probably not but who knows.

As far as the run for the F8 , well my dealer said 100% until 2022 taking orders. We wont see the LB floating around like the F8 is now until 2022

    We digress in this thread.

Well down under we have Pistas popping up for sale. Definitely come down a lot but still over sticker. Colour wise we definitely are more conservative .

Having said that who cars they just look fantastic no denying.

He's 100% wrong - was told no VS by one of the top brass from FA who was at an F8 drive event. He was very insistent on that. I mentioned what your dealer said and his reply was he doesn't know what he's talking about if he's telling good customers that. 100% no F8VS. He said Pista was THE VS and that's it. Take it to the bank - NO F8VS. He was VERY matter of fact about it.

There will always be cars changing hands for various reasons but all in all there haven't been too many and they don't stick around and bring List plus onroads.

The only one's ive seen struggle to shift have been 2 Pistas without stripes - one was recently sold/traded way way under sticker but it was truly a disastrous spec for a Pista. Silver, no stripe, red interior and CF wheels. It looked so bland and was a bloodbath inside. I have no idea what the guy was thinking when he spec'd it but he sure paid for it at the end. They couldn't shift it anywhere near sticker. You may recall seeing it online? It was new, no miles, sat and sat and sat. The only way the owner got clear of it was by trading it on a new 600lt which was also an unpopular color for the model and had sat forever too. The guy I know at Mac wholesaled it straight on. Even he couldn't believe how dud it looked ...was shaking his head in disbelief. Just goes to show these guys who go with self indulgent specs which conflict with the model don't get away with their trousers on. I know the figure it was traded for and boy o boy was it cheap .....a very big pill swallowed. Pista has shown to be a car where the spec must stay true to the model or a savage beating is in store. Im told the worst thing anyone could do to themselves is not put a stripe on a Pista and I've been told that a few times now by those selling these cars for a living. It was a similar case with 458 speciales with no stripes but not nearly as bad as how it is with a Pista from what I'm told.

Makes sense. The Pista benefits a lot visually from the stripe since the hood is such a smooth, flat piece that it can look naked without the stripe. The Speciale at least had some vents and the central shark fin. If the Speciale was missing the fin, it would be the same story.

  19. I thought it was already settled that there would be no F8 VS?

Are we now going to discuss whether the earth is flat?

Apparantly for some it’s not settled. Time will tell if there is a VS F8 or not but common sense says no.

That's interesting to hear. Recently someone commented positively about the stripe assuming I had added it myself. I said it's actually painted on - it's a common option you can order from the factory. They said that's pretty cool - is it expensive? I said I'am actually too embarrassed to tell you the price (that person's car was less than the cost of the stripe).

So it turns out not getting the stripe maybe even more expensive!!

You have to get a stripe. It’s a no brainer. Resale will be impossible on a Pista with no stripe but i actually think the stripe looks amazing on the car.

Its the same with other rehashed discussions, all it requires is one person to start it and here she blows again. I can mention 3 other key words that will start conversation again

I had to go back a few pages to see who started the VS discussion :) wasn't me :). Person responsible should say sorry for starting the derailment...……
