    Mine's a stage 1 Steve, which means the valves are closed until max. acceleration. The only difference between stage 1, 2 and 3, I believe, is when the valve opens.

    Ah, ok.
    Yes I believe they are all the same at WOT, but the stage 1 is quietest when pootling around.

    I thought you meant you had one that has the remote control that you can operate at any time to make it quieter / louder.

    The only thing that will bring the CEL on with a different system is the O2 sensor, and that would be the post cat sensor.
