What is the best adhesive to attach metal Fender Shields to my recently acquired 1998 f355 Spider. They came with 3M double coated tissue tape but I am concerned about their durability since I have not been able to adjust the shields to exactly fit the curvature of the car. Thanks

I might be hesitant to go with anything more robust than the 3M. That stuff is strong and quite a pain to get off in its own right. If you go with something stronger, I worry that you jeopardize the paint underneath. If the fit to your car isn't precise, the next owner might be super finicky and want them off. The other option is the shield that is a flexible sticker. Some really like them, some think it looks as a homemade bar of soap. Can you get f355 shields that fit your fenders precisely?

Thanks for your response. My shields are metal so I will attempt to get them to conform better to the fenders.

If you can’t form the shield to fit exactly, and if the are enamel, they will be difficult to bend and not damage.

you could try a 3m product with a little bit of foam in it to take up the difference; but this will show.

(Personally I think the oem plastic shields look like they came from a box of cracker jacks and have no place on a Ferrari.)

    The OP,
No I don't recall the factory entering a 355 spider in any type of race.
    355 Challenge perhaps.

For $8000 you can have the proper indentation put into the fender. Otherwise, they look silly.

Yeh not worth 10 percent of the value of the car. The Yoshi shields were perfect- have had them on my 355 for 16 years and they still look perfect

Why were the Yoshi shields so good and why aren't they making them anymore?

3M double sided automotive tape is very thin and works well for me.

If its not a racing Ferrari (or a super/special Ferrari nowadays), you shouldn't have shields on your car. Just FYI.
Between you and me, it just does not look right.

Now if you intend to have them on maybe try bending them before exposing the adhesive sticker?
As others have said, I wouldn't use anything stronger than the adhesive 3M sticker that is on them now. That paint is so soft if you look at it wrong it will chip.

I believe ferrari shut him down because he was making high quality shields that everyone was using about 15 yrs ago.
