Scud steering wheel on stock F430: LED's work!

Another small update this week.

The dealer could not enable the shift lights, but they worked out the way to do it. They need to request a proxy file electronically from the factory, download it onto the SD3 and then upload it onto the dash ECU. After this they will be able to make it work. I'm waiting to find out when they'll get that proxy file, but I'm now off to the states for two weeks, so I guess it would be after that..

 

Getting nowhere fot the moment on this.. The dealer contacted the factory for the proxy file, but the factory refused to send it on the grounds that the option was not available on the F430. Dealer apologised and returned the car after trying for a couple of days. Very strange. Running out of ideas...?

Seems like the end of the road on this one. I was interested to see the outcome, but seems like a lot of $$$$ for no LEDS 😃😃. Shame

Is it possible to get a proxy file from another source (like another car)... Has anyone else tried this on a 2005 F430 like the OP?

 

That's what I was thinking, or perhaps swap speedos or just dash ecu. Anorther option is to try with the Autogenuity software if anyone has it in South-East England?

Let us know the workaround once you get this going. I too would like to throw in a scud steering wheel on my F430.

Has anyone gotten this to work?

 

I have in my car but it's a slightly different scenario: I have a Scuderia cluster reprogrammed with my F430 configuration and mileage data, but I also have the Scuderia ABS module that is required to suit the new cluster.

To get the lights to work in a normal F430 I should imagine you'd need at least an EVO2 cluster (MY2008 onwards). FAI can reprogram it with your existing vehicle configuration and mileage.

 

Does anyone know where to source a scuderia steering wheel? They seem to be as rare as hens teeth.

Haven’t installed Yet, tidying up car so still waiting For bits and pieces to arrive， will post result once fitted。
