Well that fiasco was the result of the early safety car -- and everyone desperate to pit under SC.

Everyone changed to hards earlier than planned.
(Except Grossjean, who got scrod by pitting under green.)

Charles pushing that dog of a Ferrari beyond it's capacity gets another place boost from the racing gods.

Dang shame for Sainz, who was having a good race until the tires got past their "use by" date.

Not sure about some of the stewards' calls.
Mags went wild on the track, but they blamed Albon for not leaving the track?

And Grossjean's "second move" looked to me like he noticed the car coming up and turned to give him room.

Boring race but the most electrifying ending I've seen in years.

    Good stuff!

And were on softer compounds next week!

Fantastic race from my point of view, with unexpected final suspense in the last 2 laps.
The victory goes to the best combo car/driver/organisation, as it should.
Mercedes has been head and shoulders above the rest this weekend again, but let down by those dreadful Pirelli tyres.

No, but we like to give to Ceasar what belongs to Ceasar, and we appreciate a worthy winner.

Was the dual axis steering a contributing factor to the tires blowing out?

    I don't think so.

Sainz had a left front tire blow out on the last lap as well.

40 laps on the hard tire is pushing THAT tire to the maximum given track temp today.

Charles was a lot better than his car today.
Gasly 7 another good result for him
Poor Albon i sincerely feel for him to be in this team

Will be interesting what RedBull will say in the press this week on Albon.
Charles keeping Ferrari in respect currently

Nah. Everyone changing to hards too early under the SC was the likely culprit.

Yep, I believe it was lap 7 that most went to hards.

It's a 52 lap track so they went 45 laps on the hards and Pirelli recommends 40 laps on the hards. That left front takes most of the degradation.

It was his teams fault that he crashed into another car?

    MY Vettel?! FFS

Seriously, take some time out of posting on Merc&HammyChat and put in a little effort and read some of the posts here before just popping in after a HAM victory.

no but the way he is treated internally is destroying his confidence
    Then the mistakes
    Exactly as Gasly last year

Charles doing what a top driver does—get the best out of the car—like Max and unlike Vettel.

Just caught the audio of Kimi pitting and Alfa's engineers radioing him, far too late, "stay out".

Kimi is definitely going to find another hobby in 2021.

Well that was shaping up to be the dullest race of the year and suddenly became the best race of the year with 3 laps to go! Awesome chaos at the end.

Stand out performances have to go to Max (should have won) and Lec (seriously outperforming his car).

    Stroll has mastered reverse. Classy.

Albon must be getting nervous... surely he’s on the termination list at RB? Weird - as a team RB has been singularly incapable of running two drivers at the sharp end. Doesn’t seem to matter who the driver is. I don’t think Albon is bad (sure, he’s not exceptional) but his performances are mirroring the shambles of Gasly. I’m starting to question the team management.

McLaren have outscored their potential in a big way. There’s no way they should be in 3rd in the WCC, but when it comes to race strategy they pull it out the bag every time.

Could Merc win every race this year? Baring a double dnf, it’s looking quite possible.

Agree'd on management at Red Bull. Delete Marko and Horner and see what happens. They have been there long enough and its deja-vu management and results this year. Dieter needs to shake things up and get Red Bull invigorated again.
