Too bad neither of them won. 'Not even close enough to take advantage of Lewis' trouble. So remind me......how good are they again? :(

Them-thar little green men up in those silver discs over your head aren't doin' their jobs for you, are they? :p

I reckon Bottas has the potential to win a Grand Prix when he's 18 years old

    :D

H'es probably a bit late for that now...but still a solid driver, good enough to trash Elton from time to time..or when Toto removes the sandbags from his car...

Wonder how Hamilton would do at Indy in the 500, driving in one of the existing teams? I'd be interested to watch.

Like any other F1 driver that gave it a shot in decent equipment. It's an easy "road course" to learn, like any oval.
The race craft...well, of course, that's up in the air. Look at poor Nige's inexperience at the re-start's when he should have won......partially exonerated by the championship :)

    It would, indeed, be interesting
Alonso was in winning position with 3/4 race gone when the engine blew.
Mansel won the Indy car series.

Is it not Graham Hill who, when asked about Indianapolis, replied: "Indianapolis 500 is just 800 left turns !"

I think it's a gross over-simplification, but a good F1 driver should be able to master the track.

What puts many off are the risks. The track don't take any prisoner and there are no run-off areas !

Naaahhh, he didn't oversinplify it, it is easy to get around once your hooked up. He did have it a little easy though with 1/3 of the field not making a lap so he might have taken it for granted a wee li'l bit..... Also, notice his qualifying speed (each driver's is in the "box scrore")....22 others qualified faster than he. Good ol' attrition to the rescue.
Jackie was on his way to the win 'cept.....NOT. Also not one of the fastest qualifiers. As much as I enjoy the entertainment value, I don't find it to be all that it's made out to be. Like they say....it's the "Greatest Spectacle in Auto Racing"....

Still wouldn't miss it even tho' I don't care for the IRL. :)

The thin blue line on Bottas halo was to distinguish who was who in the car.

Lewis car reflects a purple blue line depending on the angle of the sun.

I would have made blue gloves for Bottas.

You are correct, the thin blue line is in support of law enforcement. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thin_blue_line

Right, POLICE eyewear in Milan https://www.policelifestyle.com/xx_en/policexlewis.html

Without getting into P&R, because that is clearly not allowed; Lewis Hamilton does not have a Thin Blue Line on his Purple helmet, the only relation to police is the POLICE mentioned by @375+ .
