I will avoid HFCs until the warranty is up...Unless my dealer is on board, which they warned about messing with cats. Will have to discuss with them again. Personally, I think the car is plenty loud when you drive it the way it should be driven. As I’ve mentioned before, I’m looking for a tone change, not a volume change.

Personally, I would leave it stock.

Kline finally arrived today. Hoping to find some time to get it on in the next week or two. Full inconel. The whole thing weighs literally nothing. Image Unavailable, Please Login

That's awesome. Ok you've got to try and take a few more photos of the muffler section from different angles. Build quality looks superb. Can you confirm the 200 cell cats are also inconel?

Heard a 488 with a muffler-less x pipe on it the other week and tbh I thought it not only sounded too loud on idle for the car but also sounded a bit like a truck. I actually thought the stock system sounded better overall on idle and at the low speed the car was being moved around at. I think sometimes you've got to be careful what you wish for when you start modifying the exhaust on a car as sometimes the outcome isn't all that great. Frankly since the valve controller was fitted and resolved what I found was the main issue I've been thinking whether an exhaust is really worth it. And after listening to that 488 I've gone a bit cold on the idea ever since. So in a way what @Coincid says isn't such a bad idea.....and i'm leaning more toward that way of thinking now. At best there would be no way would I consider fitting up a pipe without some form of muffler arrangement in place along with functioning valves as the car just sounds too crude otherwise.

If there were 3 different 488 exhausts over the production run, I wonder if some were better than others. Could one source an older one that sounded better and put that on?[emoji23]

Just came back from another install. 200 cel Klein Inconel on a 488 spider. Valves pinned open. Start up sounds like mine , stock pinned valves. On idle pretty much sounds like the stock system also. Reving there is a little more sound , not louder but cracks, pops and in person you can hear a little shrill.

Is it better than just having valve control , im on the fence in a way. I need to hear it driving and going past me to make the final decision.

The one thing the Klein has is that the exhaust still goes through a silencer of some sort where as the OEM it doesn't if you pin them open.

I'm really curious if there are any baffles in that can or if it's just an ugly splitter in there that they're trying to hide.

The Klein was already installed so I couldn't see. But ild bet it has a top and bottom half so when the valve is closed it goes through the bottom half through some sort of wadding

Yep at least 10 kgs or more less. The thinner wall of the Inconel has a lot to do with the sound as I have been told.

I would guess it to be like an OEM setup. Valves open and there is a pipe through the silencer.

Is this the Kline muffler can arrangement? It doesn't look like the Kline muffler can though.

I'm considering Kline 200 cell, Kline inconel, and valve controller.

Has anyone done this set up, and if so, what are your thoughts?

    Any drone?

Also the Italian Tubi Style produces an Inconel aftermarket exhaust for the 488 Pista: It's produced less than 500 meters from the Factory. They offer the pneumatic valve controller and so on too.

    https://catalogue.tubistyle.it/ferrari/488-pista-pista-spider-2018.html

I know Mr. Fausto Lettieri, the firm owner: his firm does know the Pista, as it produces the stock exhaust too...

Why should anyone look for a not Italian produced exhaust for a Ferrari? ;)

    ciao

Tubi hasn't produced the best exhaust for Ferraris in a long time including the factory model.

No idea about the actual exhausts, as I own only vintage cars (with a Tubi Style on them).

But I'm very curious to know why the Kline Innovation Inconel Pista exhaust should be better than the Tubi one: did you test them both?

    Just to know

    Ciao

Yes, Tubi was the go to back in the day then Capristo and others came along. The quality of the systems between Kline and Tubi is obvious to me. I have Kline systems coming in for the Pista and an 812 so will have feedback very soon.
