Don't forget that with more than double the races, Hulk still hasn't a podium to his name.

    Lance has.

Lance's podium was by attrition....not by merit.

He has'nt gotten a podium since.

Hulkenberg being interviewed by Button on Skysports said the tire vibration would not have let him finish the race without a tire change

People forget how many other drivers fell out for Lance to get a 'podium'. Including his team mate. It was a podium but not by his sheer skill. Applies to anyone gifted a podium when 5 other cars are out. Same for today. No vibration and Stroll beaten by his team mate.

    This is true.

Lance was behind Hulk throughout the race...never attacking Hulk....until lap 45 when the team told Hulk to BOX for a new set of tires due to vibration issues.

I'd like to hear the team radio.

Post race, Driver's say what they are told to say... Team radio will settle the matter.

Nico was quite open and honest about this. I think it was a call that was needed. This was an issue that could have ended his race it seems.

Could it be that Lance took better care of his tires than Hulkenberg who was consistently a couple of seconds in front, but was abusing his tires? If Lance followed closer to Hulkenberg he would have compromised his tires and overheated his equipment. Credit where credit is due.

They pitted Hulk first. Then several laps later, they pitted Lance. So Lance had "fresher" tires than Hulk.

It was great seeing Hulk school stroll today. A total novice to the Racing Merc and yet capable of outperforming his inferior teammate. That’s the difference between a racing driver and a pay driver.

As for Perez - he needs to be worried for his seat.

Were you watching the race? Hulk lost three positions, started third finished 7th, Lance finished in front of him. Lance took care of his tires and was never more than a couple of seconds from Hulkenberg all through the race, maybe Hulk could learn something about tire management and not have to make an extra pit stop. Perez is one of the best in regard to tire management and has a much more impressive record than Hulkenberg who has never been on the podium.

You are quite the advocate for Lance. Are you a member of the Stroll family or just on the payroll?

Oh yes. I watched it all. Strangely, I don’t remember seeing much, if any of Stroll on TV during the whole race - apart from when Albon breezed past him. Hulk got the bulk of the coverage for Pink Merc. Even the TV producers prefer to watch racing drivers instead of pay drivers.

Hulk nicely outpaced lance 7 second gap in 8 laps I think it was. Solid race.

I don’t believe there was that large a gap, but in either case it’s where you finish, and no matter what the naysayers think, Lance beat Hulkenberg!

Gifted that place due to mechanical issue for Hulk. Not by passing or racing at all. Id say this if it was Charles getting that place if Vettel had an issue. Its quite simple and common.

Overall the UK series for Lance was anything but a thrilling success. His OWN TEAM said last weekend they expected more. Will be interesting to see Perez back and what he does vs Lance and Nico the last 2 races.
This appears to be a team with good qualy pace and falls off in the race. They have some work to do.

Many know me to defend Stroll from the simply constant bashing here...but if I had to pick a winning driver, overall, it would be Hulkenburg.

Cant disagree Lance did beat him in the final standings. Nobody can. But Hulkenburg was just was better through this weekend.
