I was having a discussion yesterday with a fellow F chat member, both of us have a very large Ferrari library, and we were saying that surprisingly there hasn't been a proper reference book written just on the 308 GTB/S series of car with the ability to add a 328 chapter.

Considering the popularity, volume produced and variations made it's a topic that really hasn't been covered to the same extent as say the Dino with its Dino Compendium or the 250 GTO.

So famously called the Magnum Ferrari, it's a car that so many current owners cut their teeth on and today is certainly still one of the most iconic model series they ever made.

I acknowledge that Keith Bluemel wrote the Original Ferrari V8, but there are many errors in that book, just with the photographs alone, plus it expands to the GT4, Mondial's, 288 GTO, F40 rather than just focusing on the 308 GTB/S series.

Other then that there are a few smaller, thinner books covering the 308/328 series and usually adding Mondial's in the mix, but nothing with every model, both US and Euro, the various specifications, build numbers, full history, colour options, restoration, maintenance, etc.

For now this is the closest we have...

I for one would buy a copy of a proper 308 GTB/S reference book. Should one ever be produced and I'm sure thousands of others would too.

    Would you?

I spoke with Keith Bluemel several years ago at Cavallino and mentioned he was planning to update his book.

    So nothing yet.
I wish he or maybe even Nathan Beehl would do a stand alone book on the 308 GTB/S series. Such an opportunity missed.

    The registry is woefully incomplete.

I figure if they can release a book as specific as on 308 GTB Rally Cars there is surely a demand for one just on the road cars.
