Can anyone recommend someone to Inspect a 1970 Maserati Ghibli Spider for me in Victoria. I can't travel there at the moment.

    Thanks

    Craig

Nice of you blokes to dob Carl in for this. Did it occur to you to ask him first?

Personally, I wouldn't touch an inspection on behalf of a dealer. Nothing but legal and reputational risk in return for a peppercorn fee.

Yep, if you don’t know the guy asking it’s a potential mine field.

Nearly as bad as people asking for valuations.

    Over the phone!

Silly signature here to annoy KIAI

Umm that's why I/we did dob him in,so he can be asked,he can...and may well say no,but at least give the bloke the option.
Carl has had a look at a couple of cars for me with no problem.

.....and also plus it's highly possible Carl will know the car in question.

Carl is a businesman,if he sees a potential PPI job that he's happy with I don't see an issue,if he doesn't then the OP will have to look elsewhere.

Craig, I know the car. You can call me about it if you like. +61 434 768 308

Apart from our restrictions at the moment that preclude me from inspecting it in person, I've stopped doing reports on cars anyway. My business liability insurance for 2020 now specifically excludes inspections. It's just become too painful and litigious.

If you haven't already, your first port of call should be Fabio Collina @ Maserati Classiche.

    Hi Carl,

Thanks for reaching out on the car. I will try and give you a call later. I have family in Australia but they cant go in person to see it at the moment either. I'm not actually after a comprehensive list on the car but more just a basic inspection and to know the car is there and exists before I wire money to purchase it .

No problem. If you wanted something like the engine/chassis number sighted along with the location of the car that's fine. But no ability to visit until mid September at the earliest.

Speaking of Ghibli spiders, I see Mr. Kidston has been up to his old tricks again:

Anyone ordered the new Miura book BTW?

Not trying to stir the pot, lover, but could you not use your professional/trade expertise as a reason to assess/check the car?

I see Mr Kidston went to the school of hard knocks poor chap! You couldn't write a more stories upbringing. From Wiki. He also owns

Kidston was born in September 1967,[3] the son of Commander Home Kidston, a retired naval officer who owned and raced cars.[4] His uncle was Glen Kidston, the record-breaking aviator and motor racing driver.[4] His cousin is the fashion designer and businesswoman Cath Kidston.

Kidston grew up near Siena, Italy and was educated in Switzerland,[citation needed] including Aiglon College from 1981 to 1985.[5][6] Kidston is an avid car collector, with his collection including a 1938 Bugatti Type 57C Cabriolet originally built for his father.[17]

Yes, PP went to the same school. They received an F40 each as a graduation present.
