Ignition ON Switch in engine bay (for EFI installation)

I think the fuel pump goes on at ignition on and if so might be used as an ignition on signal?

 

Don't know anything about the Mondial 8. But I'm almost positive that you're going to get an ignition source at the harness that feeds the stock digiplex.

 

I was thinking the same but don’t know on that car where the box is located.

 

I think the fuel pump only works when cranking or the air plate in the fuel distributor is deflected. Just use a test light and take one of the wires off the coil or Digiplex

I would imagine the + terminal on the coils is a pretty solid signal for ignition being on.

 

One of the three wires that goes to the solenoid is connected to the ignition switch, you can tap it from there but use a test light to find out which one is connected to the ignition switch.

 

Use your ignition switch as the power source. Run a new fuse and wire directly. Dont try to jump into any existing harness connection points.

 

Well, since he's going with an aftermarket ECU - the existing harness connections will already be reused, yes?

 

If that is the case..then build a complete stand alone harness completely separate from the cars existing harness. Power it up by it own fuse board using key on ignition power direct from the ignition..just like the factory would do. Distribute power from the fuse board as needed.
