I am about to order an F8 spider. My friend just took delivery of an F8 Tribute a couple of months ago. He has had a brake squeal issue since day 1. He did bed his brakes as well. Any one else have a chronic/loud brake squeal issue from day 1? I am wary about placing my order now. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I drove an F8 Spider yesterday and did experience any brake squeal.

My '19 488 GTB has occasional squeak/squeal as well. Usually cured by a few hard stops or rinsing the calipers (when cold). I wouldn't let a little thing like this prevent ordering an F8.

Carbon brakes that aren’t used regularly will have a little squeal until used more. As said above, a few hard long peddle stops and it should wear off the caliper film/rust

Most squeal with the oe brakes. You can help it, but rarely remove it.
An option is to fit Pagid RSC1 pads. They tend to run a bit more quiet.

What bed in proceedure did your friend use? A proper bed in takes a bit ofca brake workout. A few hard stops from 110 km/h won't do it

Rust and film? You do know that CCM rotors do not contain any metals right?

It's not a film. What sometimes happen when the brakes are driven soft for longer periods, is that they glaze. Glazing can also occur if new pads and rotors are not bedded right away.
If you have glazed pads, a few stops won't do much good, that stuff is hard. You need at least 10 high speed stops if not more to get properly rid of it. I'm talking 180-200 km/h to 80 km/h stand-on-the-brake stops with full throttle accellerations in between. You need both speed and friction to get it off.

Ceramic brakes squeal. Not an issue and shouldn't hold you back ordering a new car with them.

I think it's a bit odd that so many accept the squeal as a necessary evil.
We as clients should be vigilant and demand better when better is an option. This is not an issue that all ceramic brakes suffer from. This is very specific to the old school Brembo Carbon Ceramic Matrix construction. Porsche does not have this issue, Surface Transforms does not have this issue. Why do we put up with 20+ year old brake disc technology when better is out there? I think the OP should order an F8, because it's a great car, but at the same time I think everyone should make it a point to let their dealer rep know that we as clients know there are other brake options out there, and we as clients would very much like to see Ferrari step up their game in the brake department.

True. But as clients we can better affect Ferrari in this area. It is not very easy to do anything about the buttons. But if people star showing up for service with cars that are fitted with aftermarket pads and rotors, thus they don't sell any OE brake parts, then that might entice them to offer a better and more competitive product.
