Need to remove the binnacle on my F430 to fix the loosening leather. Can someone help me understand how to get it off or refer me to a thread...can't seem to find anything in my search. Thanks in advance.

I did this 2 years ago when my leather started to bubble.
There are two Allen screws in the front Underside of the binnacle. If you duck down you’ll see the holes just in front of the plexiglass. I can’t remember what size. Once you unscrew the two Allen bolts the rear portion is held in place by two tension fixtures like a hammer holder on pegboard. Don’t know it’s proper name. Just pull straight up, the binnacle will pop off.

The hardest part is getting the Allen wrench in the holes mostly by feel. Especially when putting them back in. Otherwise it’s pretty straight forward..

Excellent! Exactly what I was looking for. The bubbles on mine look almost the same. Did you just have it redone when you pulled it? Thanks a bunch!

Glad to help. I shipped mine to a company in Dallas that does work for the local Ferrari dealer. They ordered a new roll of matching leather so it would be a perfect match and then sent me 3 color samples of the deviated stitching and one was a perfect match. Took about 2 weeks. They took off the old leather and used that as a pattern for the new leather.
When reinstalling, make sure you line up the allen head screws in the holes. If you don't get it right, the screw will sort of slip to the side and feel like it's seated but its not, it's just wedged between the binnacle and the mounting frame. You'll understand when you do it.

Hey Bob, can you give a ball park of what that cost and is it possible to share the vendor?

I think it was around $450 or so. The vendor was The Tin Lizzie Affair, a crazy name but they do leather repair for Ferrari of Plano (Texas). I think it was a little extra work since I had the deviated stitching.
