I'm just curious how many of the 360s came with the option of the fenders shields? Does having them add to the resale value of our used Ferraris?
I know when I bought mine that was a priority on my list.

I doubt that they add value. Some want them, some don't.
I could only guess at % factory. I would guess 75% and assume that is + - 10% or so.

I see it more of a "cool to have" thing, doesn't really add value. Most folks will stick shields on if they want them.

Not based on knowledge of the factory figures or any statistically valid study, but my personal observation is that a far higher percentage of F1 cars have them while many if not most stick shifts do not. If correct, this may be due to buyers at the time being heavily influenced by F1 racing (and dealers) to pay extra for the F1 option. Stick buyers might either have been manual transmission enthusiasts or simply more budget constrained, as many sticks not only don’t have shields but also have standard seats, no challenge grills, and fewer options.

Interesting point and definitely possible. The F1 was an expensive option so it at least passes the test of basic logic consistency.

Interesting, my gated 2004 has shields, electric daytona seats and challenge grills front and back. Hadn't noticed that gated might not have as many options. I'll keep an eye out buddy and see if it holds true. My friends 2004 gated has the same options as mine also.

My car lacked these and Jeff’s car also. So we are 50/50 so far!

I don't have them. I look at my car and sometimes think it would be cool to have them but then I do appreciate the clean "stealth" aspect too! As if I am stealth in a Ferrari! LOL

The Previously Owner of my 360 put on very nice aftermarket shields. I keep saying I'm going to take them off but never quite get around to it. How many Prancing Horses does one really need? I should ask the guy I saw at C&C who wore a red Ferrari cap, a red Ferrari polo shirt and had red Puma/Ferrari shoes on. Forgot to check out his watch.

My F1 has shields and for me it was a priority. Guess I'm one of those posers ;)

It would be interesting to look on BAT to see the percentage of F1's and sticks that have shields.

I do try and wear as much Ferrari swag to the grocery store as humanly possible. People think I’m into horse back riding :)

Funny... When I had my 911s I had bought a really nice wool and leather "varsity" jacket from the Porsche Dealer-- had it altered to fit me nicely and all. I almost never wore it. I just kept thinking I was "that guy". As I was heading out, I'd look at it in the closet, put it on, and two seconds later I'd hang it back up.

Now however, I kind of like wearing it when I'm driving my Ferrari.

For me I have an F1 and I like the shields on my color car (California Azzurro). I don't think I would have passed on one that checked all the boxes that didn't have them. But kinda a priority for me when I was looking. I like the throwback nod to Ferrari's racing heritage.

I think I agree with the logic of costs. In the day IIRC the F1 was a $10K option. The 3 pedal being less may have been more of an economic choice.

My never worn Porsche Jacket was super expensive from the dealer but did come with a free car.

I personally think the badges are a bit much, but mine has them. It's a Ferrari. No one is going to mistake it for a Camaro if I don't have the badges, I am quite certain.
