Agreeing with the above 'makes me wonder.... Why are the "NOT"s in threads allowed ('see them all the time), yet I get banned from a thread for posting "political" when I didn't? (All I posted was that Lewis is entitled to state his political point of view, when others said he shouldn't.) Is it because I had an opposing (not political) pov?

I would too and for 2 reasons, first he knows a lot of hot girls...and he's a vegan, but i guess not all of his friends are, so i guess there would be plenty of tasty food around.
So hot girls and nice food, both needing a lot of care and attention...count me in!.oh, and i even drive a merc, just like him...just a bit older, and slower...

I prefer the simple stats of wins per races entered. Hamilton shows up pretty high in most of those as well. but I believe its still Fangio who is #1. I mean to be in F-1 at all means that you are the best out there... as the line from the Movie Grand Prix says ..."There are perhaps fewer than 20 men in the world qualified to run F-1, and of them perhaps only a handful to win".... that statement was as true in 1960 as it is today. ( I think it actually came from the book the Cruel Sport )

To me one of the most important things to see how really good a driver is, is the respect and opinion of his peers.
Take a look at Fangio and the way he was revered, same for Jimmy, Gilles, Ayton, Michael....i don't see that for hamilton, not even close....Max certainly doens't belive his better then him, nor does Ricci, or Seb, i might be mistaken, but the only 2 drivers that all the other drivers agreed were superior to the rest were Fangio and Gilles.

I disagree... there are maybe 1000men that could drive an F1 and be fast but this sports has many barriers to entry. It’s expensive, u got to know people, the guys in there what proof does have one they are truly the best? Could little Jason smith living in a trailer park in Ohio access this sport he dreams of? No- bc he is poor, not modest like Hamilton was supposed to be, just plain poor.
F1 isn’t a democratic sport, what we see is the best allowed to drive. Maybe they are, coincidentaly, also the best but we don’t know. It’s not like track and field where u know no one has ever ran faster than ussain bolt.

And Jim Clark; remember Chris Amon said after his accident: "well, if this can happen to him, what chances do we have, then?"

We don't have the resources to review the hundreds of posts listed every day. Moderators are unpaid volunteers, selected because Rob felt we were good stewards for his site. That said, we depend on members to report anything that might be questionable. I do no doubt that there were P&R posts that we either missed or were never flagged by other members. Feel free to use the report feature; we try to be fair and equitable to everyone.

You are aware that this chart shows Heikki Kovalainen to be faster than Prost , Mansell and others right? Also Ham's career is not over, the computer may put him at top over time

And the way this year (and likely next year) are going, his 'stats' per races entered are only going up.

One thing that none of us, both supporters and naysayers, can refute is Hamilton’s timing with joining Mercedes. And I’ll just say, if Hamilton wasn’t there, I can guarantee Bottas or any other driver behind the wheel of that car would be multi world champion.

    Another idiotic point

    Idiot =/= unsuccessful

How many geniuses died completely lonely and poor?

Guess by your standards Bilzerian must be at least 10 times less of an idiot than Einstein

Somebody at Merc said last week that that driver would have been Ricciardo.

Only driver that would not be able to score multiple WDCs in that car would probably be Grosjean.

Ricciardo would do a much better job than Bottas.

VB does enjoy a siesta during most races.
