Piero Lardi, Piccinini and Gozzi, yes? Never was a fan of the Ferrari-Thema but I imagine it sounded great.
LOL on the “thugs” comment. Obviously poor translation but I hope they were not referring to the engineers, ha-ha. Speaking of GTO, found this recently—don’t remember from where; probably here, ha-ha—and obviously a final design rendering by Nicosia. The rendering even captures what I don’t like about the GTO: the way the top of the rear fenders transition to horizontal, creating some particularly disjointed reflections that are also interrupted by the quarter scoop cut-out. Yes good start but a couple of more; Brenda Vernor who was Enzo's long time personal assistant. The chauffeur is Dino Tagliazucchi who started driving for Enzo in 1969 and stayed all through the 1970's and 1980's until the very end. Dino went everywhere with Enzo for all those years and sometimes drove but not always. Enzo never went anywhere alone in that time! The favoured ride was always Peugeots until Fiat started sending free cars including much later the Lancia pictured. Dino Tagliazucchi at the farm house > Image Unavailable, Please Login

As far as a tribunal against those who commit crimes in car design-- that already exists--it's called the used car market. Occasionally a very flawed collector car will go for big bucks like the DeTomaso Mangusta does, but a lot of times cars that were launched with much fanfare fall to 10% of their list price because they had design flaws like the Allante and TC by Maserati. I think the triumph of the Bizzarrini coupe and Mangusta coupe in riding to $400k and above shows where styling can overcome minor design flaws. Knocking the design of cars like that is like looking at Marilyn Monroe and asking "But can she cook?"
At least those cars had a proper greenhouse. When it comes to the auto greenhouses of today designers seem to be inspired by... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes I do too. I’ve been out of commission this week. Had a heart attack. I was hoping some others would be able to start some conversation about design. I really miss all the great design related posts. On Facebook, there is so much cool info about automotive design, both past and present. There is so much happening. I’m going to try and correct this deficiency. Because someone said: “Design, it’s important”
Welcome to the Niels van Roij Design Silver Spectre Shooting Brake Earlier we shared videos of the car in full camouflage. This week our design work was spotted undisguised by a very observant gentleman, whilst the car was fueling up! So today is time for the official reveal of the Niels van Roij Design Silver Spectre Shooting Brake! The coachbuilt car has been named after the image of a shadow, ghost or spirit. This conversion is based on the British grand tourer coupe, manufactured by the most recognised company of pinnacle luxury cars. What?! I had no idea. Im assuming you are recovering well or you wouldnt be posting here. So thats good. Damn my friend... Take care of yourself!
Thanks! Was released yesterday, and am now cooling my jets as it were. So many friends and family calling, I’m tired of talking on the phone. I’ll try to make up the slack on this thread as time permits.
John, I'm NOT going to give you a "like" for that post! That can be serious. Glad you are doing better! Image Unavailable, Please Login Where have all the yellow cars gone? Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'm so sorry to hear that you went through that. I hope you'll be fully recovered and at 110+% soon. I thought something was amiss when the notices of postings to this thread stopped--I just thought you'd taken a little vacation. Take care of yourself and get well soon. We'll try to cover for you but expecting you back in your role of design ringleader in not too long.
John my favorite expression always was 'time LOST is never FOUND' so hopefully you will make the most of your time with wise choices! Sending positive thoughts!!!
Inner Conflict: I couldn't decide whether to "like" your post or not; glad you're back but sorry to hear of your health issues. Without your posts, my highly developed design cynicism is lacking a familiar outlet! Take care my friend! Designers: they're important!
