The 2021 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye has the most powerful production V8 engine with 797HP, a quarter-mile elapsed time of 10.6 seconds and a top speed of 203 mph. So, how much? The U.S. MSRP starts at $78,595: Dealer ordering opens in September with initial deliveries to Dodge//SRT dealerships scheduled to begin in early 2021. Image Unavailable, Please Login

    That's a lot of power for a 30 year old E-class.

I had a Hellcat Charger for a year, and it was a blast. The sound at full wail is intoxicating ! The problem is, you can't get 700hp to the ground in normal conditions. Even rolling 50mph down a highway access road and blasting it causes the tires to light up in smoke. Never took it in to the shop once during the year. If I was going to keep it for any length of time, I would have put street / slick Hoosiers on the back, and just not driven in the rain. It was a hell of a lot of bang to the buck for the $68k I paid.

Got the itch, and sold it to buy Rob's Boss 302.

Now ready for a C8 Vette with Museum delivery in early November.

I believe you cannot order a Redeye with a manual transmission. I don’t buy fun new cars anyway.

Just ordered a Challenger RedEye WideBody and you cannot get either RedEye (Charger or Challenger) in a manual.

I imagine there's no manual transmission made anymore that can handle the torque.

Dodge says anything above the Hellcat will be auto only for this very reason. Lack of reliability.

In the long future of forever, no electric car will EVER sound as good, smell as good, or satisfy the soul in the same way.

No ETs. Maybe even with all those runs it didn't do as well as expected.

Drag Pack Challengers will routinely run ~8 seconds in the 1/4

(remember, these are factory drag cars ... not street legal)

Seriously thinking of dumping the Benz for a wide body Charger Redline. I find them strangely appealing. My modern Challenger has been completely reliable and a hoot to drive.

I have driven several Hellcats, but not any wide body Redeyes. I guess curb wt.is between 5,300 & 5,600lbs. Depending on build, if you add a bar or cage. I realize its a straight line light em up type fun car, older type chassis etc. That said, anyone have any track time on a road course. I assume it would push with power on oversteer with not much throttle. A 458-488, PorscheTT would probably destroy it on a technical track.
