I put a remote on mine works great I prefer the remote since sometimes it can be stock if I like just got to remember which button to push
Same. I just have the system set to default to open (aka pinned). The remote just lives in the cargo net behind the passenger seat. If I ever need to flip it to closed, I can do that easily, and it defaults back to open on the next startup.
Funny that many seem to fit it but nobody has a video... Nor do i. People say Inconel adds a nice tone... i think it is better than stock and the full system is priced significantly less than other models systems has cost.
I think a lot of people just recite what they read or hear others talking about with out really owning and really living with these mods. Kind of like a guy I know with a few hundred miles on his car in 2 years but will tell you everything about how it handles and such....LOL...he doesn't really even know the car yet. LOL...weird stuff to me.
Welp, the Novitec exhaust is arriving Thursday, WAYYYYY ahead of Novitec's 8-10 week lead-time quote. Not sure how busy the shop is, but I'll try and capture some before/after video if you guys want. I have a decent mic, so hopefully we can capture some interesting clips. I just need to find a clear area to do the video without getting complaints about noise or getting the car impounded!
Those are risks I'm willing for you to take. LOL. Excellent news and look forward to your thoughts and clips.
I had a chance to drive an F8 Spider today for about a half hour around some different road types and speeds. It's a factory demo car so it had around 4500 miles on it. FWIW, the F8 Spider's exhaust sounded MUCH better than the Pista in low rpms and at startup (warm and cold) from outside the car. They've definitely done something to help the sound pipe into the cabin as well as inside the car. I know F8 owners are dying to get an exhaust controller working, which I think will help quite a bit. Anyway, I was pretty pleasantly surprised with the sound, especially as I was thinking back on the days I was driving around with the exhaust controller not working. I was very unhappy -- didn't feel that way in the F8 with the valves under OEM ECU control.
Interesting - I have heard the F8 as well as an SP2 around Fiorano and I couldn't even tell the F8 was coming on the track it was that quiet.
Well, I think next to an uncorked NA V12, everything sounds pretty sad. I heard a straight pipe 812 today, and it was so ear splitting-loud on cold start that I had walk over to the front of the car. If you're anywhere near Northern California, Ferrari Silicon Valley has the F8 Spider demo vehicle til Tuesday, and due to COVID, they're basically just tossing you the keys for the drive.
Heading to Thermal for corsa piloti in October and as of now they are using the F8 and 812. I’m interested to see how the F8 performs next to my Pista.
Please be sure to post up a report of your experience. I decided not to sign up mainly bc of covid and continued quarantine here in Hawaii. They’re supposed to have SF90 as well, so I think you’ll be in for a treat.
That's because it was coming towards you at supersonic speed .If you'd waited a bit then the sound would have caught up..Bit like the now sadly mothballed Concorde aeroplane..
Painfully waiting but hopefully this week. I am going to do a before and after dyne though. I am curious on what happens to the power band if anything. I will record the sounds as well from each. Should be entertaining at the very least.
I have Kline Iconel 200 cell and cat back set up coming within the next 2 weeks. I'll update this thread on opinion after installed. Anyone else do this setup? If so, what's your opinion?
Really hope there is a solution for the Pista/F8. Doesn’t exist for the 488 so not holding out too much hope. Kinda is what it is, sadly. I dont have confidence the 765lt will be great though either. But am going to get one since it’s a baller performer at a fraction of supercar prices.
Is there any of you guys with a 200 cell downpipe on the Pista without an ECU tune / OBD flasher an NO CEL light? I’m considering a Capristo downpipe with 200 cell cats, keep the back box stock and open the flaps. 200 cell downpipe will bring the most sound benefit. Compared the Pista OEM downpipe with the 488 Challenge and the Challenge cats are much smaller, possibly 200 cells (not checked). The Challenge sounds way more aggressive. Do you have own experience with 200 cell without CEL on your Pista? I’m waiting at the moment of Capristo’s answer regarding CEL. Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk
I have 200cell cats on my pista (and did on my previous 488 spider), always throws a CEL. Usually takes a couple 100km, but always 100% throws it. making me consider just going catless, seeing as im going to get the CEL anyway.. I manually clear it with an OBD device if its bugging me, or just live with it. For what its worth, I am running a FI Exhaust, however friends with other branded 200 cell cats have same issue with the CEL.
